We are required to register our automobiles

No we aren’t.

Only if automobiles are to be operated on public roads are they required to be registered. If they are just being carried about on public roads, stored or operated on private property, registration is not required.

Regisration is to collect taxes, Which will be the cry after they register Guns. In my minds eye I can visualize all the criminals regestering their illegal weapons.
