Blame-Bush buffoonery

Tim Schieferecke

Hi, my name is Tim Schieferecke and I'm a native western Kansas farmboy. No, I don't know anyone from Greensburg as I'm from northwest Kansas, but I do know what rural folks from anywhere in Kansas are like. Apparently my current leftist Governor Kathleen Sebelius doesn't though, nor does she comprehend the availability of heavy equipment assets.

It was hard for me to hold my lunch down when I heard her craft an anti-Bush spin on the disaster that befell the good people of Greensburg. Slow recovery? This statement is disingenuous at best but in local lingo better understood as a downright lie.

We need trucks? It seems the good Governor doesn't get out of Topeka much. Western Kansas is wheat country, and where there's wheat there's wheat trucks. Incidentally, they fill in quite nicely for hauling away debris when they aren't filled with grain. Why do they really need Hum-vees in the mix? What can they accomplish that a regular old four wheel drive pick-up can't? Other equipment? You can't spit without hitting a tractor, spit a little harder and you'll hit one that has a handy scoop.

As far as the people go, they are salt of the earth good people, regardless of race, class or creed in the country. Unlike certain areas affected by disaster, the people of Greensburg will take care of their current problems themselves. They will not wait for the government to do this or that, because in the country people still know what it means to be a good neighbor. Growing up in this environment, I remember time after time the lessons my Dad taught me about being a good neighbor. Neighbors in the country take care of each other. From helping a neighbor get cattle back in to helping harvest his wheat if he was ill, neighbors in the country do whatever they can for each other as well as for anyone who happens to have a vehicle breakdown while passing through. So it will be with Greensburg.

Also, I'd like the Governor to explain just how many National Guard troops it takes to seal off a little town of 1500 from looters? The good Governor points out plainly opportunistically that 40% of all troops overseas are National Guard. Now, assuming that 40% of Kan

sas troops are engaged elsewhere (that's 3,200 of approximately 8,000 total, there are an estimated 4,800 troops available). To guard a town of 1,500? Do they have that many down on the border? That sounds like overkill to me!

It is beyond me how these libs spin everything towards making our good President guilty of this or that. How is it that President Bush has anything at all to do with a slow response to the catastrophe? How could ANYTHING have been done differently. Oh yeah, I forgot, Bush created global warming by colluding with big oil, that created the perfect F-5 tornado, and if only he had signed Kyoto this tragedy never would have happened.

Give me a break!

This is exactly what would happen in the rural area of Pennsylvania that I live in. Since when are the Feds the first people that are supposed to appear after a disaster.

Same thing here in Southern Ohio.

Except the Governor of your state, like mine, wouldn’t wait 48 hours to show up, as this woman did.

She’s Kathleen Blanco without the excuse, in short.

I think the good governor has stepped in it. The last thing Kansans like to see is their own dirty laundry hung out in public.

This was debunked even before she turned off the microphone. The Kansas Republican Assembly web site posted a press release from the Kansas ANG that proved that it was crap. Plus, why do the dozers and trucks have to be camouflaged? The state has overwhelming numbers of state highway equipment. Can’t the trucks be orange? Can’t the dozers be yellow?
Leftists don’t even bother to lie well anymore.

“Since when are the Feds the first people that are supposed to appear after a disaster.”

Bingo. It isn’t.

Having been in the NJARNG, I know how things work. Initial response to a disaster is a STATE responsibility. ONLY upon the GOVERNOR requesting federal assistance does the FED (FEMA and other such resources) get involved.

If there was a slow response, then it was the the fault of the Governor not giving instructions to the Adjutant General of the State of Kansas in a timely fashion to take action for this contingency.

Also, If I’m not mistaken, KSARNG likely has a Tornado disaster response plan, that should be activated at the behest of the Governor’s office.

Might she have been coached by someone higher up to link this to our president?

Heres one Kansan who wonders how she got elected in the first place, let alone re-elected. I blame the Johnson County residents, and the burned out hippies from Douglas County.

Yep, they just nod their heads in agreement, cheering them on every lying step of the way. Even the gaff by obama about 10,000 dying...they sat there and applauded like “right on”.
Good grief!

I am also a Kansas farmboy (Farm-middle-aged-man?) and I agree 100%. Only 12% of the KNG is out of the state, and what the hell do they need Hum-Vees for anyway? Sebelius is a carpetbagging Ohio RAT hack, elected purely by the urban areas and the RAT media.

It’s more than not wanting to depend on the govt at any level.

You do it yourself so that it will be done faster and better.

Absolutely. Years back my farming community had our levees break and we flooded severly. FEMA pulled the funding to fix our levees. What’d we do? Cry? Claim racism? Shoot each other? No.

We quickly voted a one-time fee to pay for and complete the levee repairs ourselves. We were ready to go before the next rainy season.

The left can’t think outside the entitlement box.

Kathleen Sebelius is the daughter of one of our former governors, John Gilligan - RAT,Ohio. He was (and is) a despicable RAT/lib/socialist who imposed the state income tax on us. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

What is it about female governors and disasters? Why is it always a man’s fault? Unbelievable!

Dear Gov’na Sebelius:

Please explain why YOU, as governor did NOTHING to stop this tornedo from happening? It happened on YOUR watch and YOU were in charge and since HUMANS are the cause of this disaster it was YOUR responsiblity to stretch out your arms and say, “Peace, be still!” I want to know right now why you failed in your responsiblity.
