Presidential wannabe Barack Obama came to Detroit earlier this week and hammered on Detroit automakers for spending too much time focusing on horsepower rather than fuel efficiency. Here's an example of his lovely comments:
"For years, while foreign competitors were investing in more fuel-efficient technology for their vehicles, American automakers were spending their time investing in bigger, faster cars..."
-SNIP-
That must explain why the Illinois Senator and Presidential candidate owns a HEMI-powered V8 Chrysler 300C. Obviously it's Chrysler's fault Obama bought a big 5.7-liter engine from them -- he just didn't have a choice.

He’s not a hypocrite, neither are any of the other leftists that tell us not to use so much energy while they guzzle it down -
they’re consistently telling us not to use THEIR energy.

Obviously, he’s going for the NASCAR and redneck vote. And he can still say, “But I’m GREENER than Algore...”

Barack doesn’t own it. It’s owned by the family trust.
/sarcasm off, with a tip of the hat to John Effing Kerry who is reported to have served in Viet nam.

I think these things get about 22-24 mpg highway at reasonable speeds. That’s not too bad and better than my Jeep Liberty. I’m not calling anyone a hypocrite for driving a mid size American car even if it does have a Hemi.

More like 14/21 I took one for a long trip last year.
25 MPG on the highway. 70/75 miles per hour.
Uses that cylinder displacement technology.
Awesome car.
