'Today' Seeks to Stir 'Magic Negro' Controversy for Rush

Trying to stir up trouble for Rush Limbaugh this morning over his "Magic Negro" parody about Barack Obama, "Today" relied on comments from a left-wing outfit without bothering to mention its highly-partisan orientation.

NBC's Michael Okwu narrated the segment, aired during the second half-hour of this morning's show. He began by harkening back to Don Imus's MSNBC career-ending comments about the Rutger's women's basketball team. Fretted Okwu: "which leads some to wonder: has Limbaugh been getting a free pass?"

What does it depict?

Just saw it. NBC interviewed Ehrenstein and he said “ I was only trying to start a conversation (with the phrase ‘magic negro’, where a black man appears out of nowhere to the rescue of a white man. [Breaks to a clip of Will Smith and Matt Damon from some movie])

From my understanding, the video was made up by someone totally un-connected with Rush and posted on YouTube. It used the audio from the satirical Shanklin “Magic Negro” parody along with unflattering images of blacks, trying to suggest that Rush was the author, and being racist.
Rush did indeed make not so veiled threats to NBC on his Friday show about how they planned on framing this “controversy” in general, and the video in particular.
I look forward to Rush’s show today.
I believe Michael Medved was going to appear on the Today show in Rush’s defense. Rush’s show should be interesting today, as should Medved’s. I hope they both “nail” NBC.

Some one put together a video about “Barack the Magic Negro” on YouTube using the music and lyrics and many in the MSM continue to attribute it to Limbaugh. Rush sent a demand letter to a tv station in Sacramento that posted the video to immediately take it down. I think they used copyright infringement reasoning.

Some “”journalist” in Houston Friday was still writing about the Magic Negro video.

Rush does RADIO. Video doesn't play to well on radio.

Thanks Rick and Red,

I would love to see Rush burn NBC over this. I haven’t watched main stream media in several years and have no idea who the players are these days but it’s evident their agenda, which is not news, never changes. Their next agenda-driven project will probably be resurrecting the Fairness Doctrine.

I thought Rush said that YouTube had to “cease and desist”, but they still have “Rush Limbaugh’s Barack the Magic Negro” on their site for viewing.

Today has been sponsoring racist murder and rape of innocent whites by lying about it for the last several decades.
