Is China trying to poison Americans and their pets?

...FDA inspectors report tainted food imports intended for American humans are being rejected with increasing frequency because they are filthy, are contaminated with pesticides and tainted with carcinogens, bacteria and banned drugs.

..257 refusals of Chinese products were recorded in April...

Refused by the FDA in April because they were "filthy":

* salted bean curd cubes in brine with chili and sesame oil * dried apple * dried peach * dried pear * dried round bean curd * dried mushroom * olives * frozen bay scallops * frozen Pacific cod * sardines * frozen seafood mix * fermented bean curd

Among the foods rejected because they were contaminated with pesticides:

* frozen eel * ginseng * frozen red raspberry crumble * mushrooms

Frozen catfish was stopped because it was laced with banned antibiotics. Scallops and sardines were turned away because they were coated with putrefying bacteria.

Toothbrushes were rejected last month because they were improperly labeled. And last week the FDA found Chinese toothpaste contaminated with a chemical used in antifreeze – the same chemical that killed people in Panama last year when it turned up in cough syrup.

The FDA is also on the lookout for vegetable proteins contaminated with melamine – the chemical that killed American cats and dogs when it was imported from China in pet food.

In the past year, the FDA rejected more than twice as many food shipments from China as from all other countries combined.

....the reason listed is simply "filthy," the official term used when inspectors smell decomposition or gross contamination of food.

Officials say FDA inspectors examine only a tiny percentage of the food imported... – about 1 percent -- meaning most of the contaminated products make it inside the country and to the shelves of retailers.

Last week I read that poultry from China was found in crates labeled something else, such as Lotus blossom.

They are determined to get their bad products here, but I don’t think it’s to kill us. They do not value the individual, but they do value money.

All food products from China must be banned ASAP. Only 1% is inspected. And the origin of Chinese materials is never identified in the long list of ingredients in processed foods.

And where precisely is the origin of that fish you ordered in the restaurant?

If the stuff in Walmart is mostly from China, then most stuff in America is from China? Kroger carries the same brands as Walmart.

Why isn't the country of origin listed on consumer food labels? It would definitely influence what products I buy...nothing from Mexico or China!

Why are we trading with that lacks our standards of living?

Yet those favorite foods of many who ancestors that came from Europe are not allowed.

The funny thing on many items Europe has higher standard on chemicals, pesticides they don’t allow in their foods and they don’t have the weight issues like America!

I know it may sound like a plot from a 1960’s movie but I wouldn’t put it above them to do so. I don’t trust the Chi-Coms at all.

Because most of the Business-Socialists and Globalists do not want “country of origin” listed on products. Most of these “free trade” agreements have such clauses

Just wait until after the 2008 Olympics....China will become even more belligerent after that.

So much so that Commie China will become a major issue in the 2008 campaign

This is just the beginning of a real crisis because we allowed the importation of CHEAP products that the big box stores wanted because all of us were trying to get ahead in life with bling and cheaper affordable goods. The influence of China is staggering, you cannot escape it as almost anything being sold be it car parts, vitamins, pet food, toys has to some degree a backing of China behind it. This is the fruits of political bedmaking that started years ago in the Whitehouse.

Probably the best thing to happen would be an embargo with Chinese goods, of course that would stiffen their war posture and create another conflict, so in effect they are threatening us and have us addicted to their supply of cheap goods. The weak minded libs want cheap goods because their is profits for the middlemen plus it gives them a tool to preach their lies of bettering the lifestyle of Americans.

Its up to the individual to ask and request the facts of what they are buying, we are a superpower and the rest of the world wishes we were not, they cannot humiliate or defeat us militarily but over time they can in other ways and it looks like China has it down pat.

You need to read up on the difference between correlation and causation.

That was about the most intellectually vacuous post I have read in months.

Most of these “free trade” agreements have such clauses . . . .

Then you should have no problem finding one. I call BS.
