Perhaps there's more to Bush's "caving" on leftist Global Warming nonsense, than meets the eye?...

I dunno. Right now I think Bush is in outright rebellion against his base.

First of all: It´s nonsense to call the phenomen "Global Warming"! It´s a worldwide climate change (it´s called like that in Europe, too) we experience, and the only question is, to which extent the human contributes to the natural climate changes.

Proof positive that it doesn’t matter what Bush does the liberals will oppose it.

To get what you want, you have to take the opposite position and then let them push you backwards.

Actually there's another question namely whether it will or won't be beneficial.

And I'm glad it's being recognized there the degree to which man contributes is still on the table. A year ago, we were being screeched at that it was something established.

Tokyo’s position is that binding targets have failed because they leave out the world’s biggest emitters, especially the US, China and India.

So Europe's inability to meet the Kyoto protocol's emissions limits is because the US did not sign up???? Yeah, that's a pretty lame excuse. Europeans like to pretend they believe in the global warming world socialist solution, but don't do a damn thing. Europeans have diarrhea of the mouth. Bunch of hateful socialists hypocrites.

you might be right.

Perhaps there is a call for more nuclear and other fuel sources which the OLD world can not compete.

Ummm, they (the proponents) called it Global Warming for 20 years, now changing its name to 'climate change' is just a ploy so they can blame all types of weather on evil Americans. Besides, humans don't contribute at all to the 'natural climate change', hence the name 'natural'.

The President is pretty canny on this one. In case you missed the soundbite a couple of days ago, he said “global warming” is best dealt with by new technologies. I’m sure that made the “back-to-the-earth” old hippie crowd — which comprises the vast “global warming” religion — shudder.

I’m the same way.

Anything that makes Europeans or Democrats mad, I’m for. :)

Despite the fire-breathing Freepers who were bashing the President for "caving" on global warming, his moves last week were brilliant.

He's including India, S. Korea, Brazil and China in global warming talks. The euro-greenies can no longer dominate the field. This will ensure that any "reforms" happen at a snail's pace while good scientists move to disprove the theory.

Love it.

Yes, it is called climate change more than global warming.
In the 70’s and 80’s it was called the coming ice age. Well, it didn’t happen. Climate change just covers all bases. Remember the deforestation forecast (Waldsterben)?
I guess we will have to enact Fart Taxes soon, that will improve the Earth temperature?
I also wish those damn Martians and all living things on the other planets would clean up their act as well, since it is getting warmer there too. :)
