Afghan police mistakenly thought U.S. troops on a nighttime mission were Taliban fighters and opened fire on them, prompting U.S. forces to return fire and call in attack aircraft, killing seven Afghan police, officials said Tuesday.

Sort of a misleading headline if this story is correct...The U.S. forces were defending themselves.

Yes, I think there’s some headline manipulation going on. Also, I think it would be hard for Afghan police to think US soldiers were Taliban and “accidentally” open fire on them, so perhaps there’s more to this story than we’re getting.

Friendly fire? Seven? Yep, fog or war is right.

I guess if Karzai can run around for weeks praising his closeness with Iran... who knows what’s going on with the Afpols?

I can definately relate. During the invasion of Iraq I watched that British Tornado shot down by a Patriot battery. Me and a whole bunch of Marines were cheering until we found out that it wasn’t a Scud that was hit. The next day we even had to pass by the wreckage. It sucks when things like that happen, but unfortunately they do.

Taranto reported on this misleading headline as well.

Yet some fools still claim that there is no left wing media bias.
