Washington, D.C. – The U.S. House of Representatives this morning voted to withhold federal emergency services funding for "sanctuary cities" that protect illegal immigrants.

Anti-immmigration champion Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., sponsored the measure, which he says would apply to cities such as Denver and Boulder. He was elated by its passage, which stunned critics and supporters alike.

The sad thing is that if we successfully Kill Bill, they get to retain the status quo ante which is unacceptable. But then after the last election I guess we knew the next step was going to be “Repel Boarders.”

You’re welcome!

I’m not sure how current it is...I think Detroit, MI is one now, but it looks like lots of cities in California are going to be in a world of hurt!

And have no doubt, the Senate is feeling all kinds of heat, regardless the headlines.

"A strong message to the Senate that their treasonous bill will not get through the House."

Exactly. This is an astounding vote. Our reps must be feeling the heat big time.

Tancredo didn’t vote. I wonder if he was busy on the campaign trail?

Generally, sponsors won’t vote on their own measure unless they anticipate a nailbiter.

Sort of a Robert’s Rules protocol.

Yeah...let the House of Lords know they'll have egg all over their faces yet again if they continue to push this monstrosity through.

God knows the only things they care about are $$$ and their own big fat egos.

I used to do that. If one of ‘em did something right I’d slip’em a $20. I stopped though. I can’t afford to throw my money away on corrupt politicians (in the sense that they’re all more or less corrupt.) It’s satisfying though. Political speech with dead presidents attached is far louder than hot air alone.

Probably. That tells me he knew the thing was in the bag when they did the headcount.

” The senate may be more deliberative but it’s really not supposed to stand up in the face of 85% of the citizenry. “

That’t the truth. It’s just that they feel like they CAN because they have 6-year terms and only 1/3 come up for re-election every cycle. They think they’re more immune because we-the-people have short memories. Their problem is that my memory is better than an elephant.
