Tancredo may be the most vocal on the illegal alien issue, but he's not a one trick pony.
He's a conservative through and through ... voted against Bush's prescription drug give away and the No Child Left Behind. As a former educator appointed by Reagan as a regional representative to the Department of Education, Tancredo wants to abolish the United States School Board established by Jimmah Carter. He understands the threat of Islamofascism - they want to kill us because "it's a dictate of their religion."
He's a pro-life, pro-gun, small government conservative with the record to prove it.
But as Tancredo says, illegal immigration has an impact on nearly every major issue confronting the country today.

Using The Blitherer's link, I have now complied a list of how FRESHMEN members of Congress voted on this bill. The nice thing is that every single one of them cast a vote on this one, so we know exactly where they stand. We can now determine once and for all if all the scary immigration hardliners in Congress that retired or were defeated got replaced with more "Hispanic friendly" candidates as the open-borders crowd on FR has alleged.

Well, well, well. Even though the new freshman class has an extreme lopsided number of Democrats (due to the election results flipping Congress to Speaker Pelosi), a huge number of them crossed sides to vote with the GOP on this bill, so much that freshmen class voted IN FAVOR of the bill by a huge margin over the freshmen members voting NAY.
The few "radical" anti-illegal alien Congressmen that were defeated last year (J.D. Hayworth, etc.) appear to have been replaced with Dems that are just as equally pro-Tancredo on the immigration issue. And you will note that while many Dems crossed over to the GOP side on this issue, not a SINGLE freshman Republican voted with the RATs. Contrary to what the open borders crowd claimed on FR, quite a few of the newly elected Republicans (Roskam, Walberg, Buchanan, Bachmann, etc.) faced VERY close races and tough opponents, and were elected while openly running on an anti-illegal alien platform. You will also note that most of the newly-elected Dems who faced very close races in "swing" districts voted with Tancredo on this one, such as all three newly elected Indiana Democrats, and both Arizona Democrats. Almost all the freshmen Congress-critters voting "NAY" are in extremely safe, urban socialist RAT districts (Ellison, Clarke, Cythnia McKinney's replacement Hank Johnson, etc.), and I'm willing to beat that the few Democrats in swing districts that voted NAY on this one will go down in history as "one term flukes" after the 2008 election (Paul Hodes, I'm looking in your direction)
Perhaps the open borders crowd on FR would like to explain how a Democrat controlled House passed such a "radical, anti-hispanic, xenophobic, mexican-bashing" Tancredo-authored bill if their propaganda that "every candidate who ran on an anti-immigrant platform in a contested race was defeated last year" is true.
Anytime, guys. Really. Feel free to explain how this is such a "losing" issue.

I am shocked but I also want to know whether this will ever get into real law. It has to pass the Senate and be signed by the Prez. This is an astonishing victory but not one that has any legal cred so far. When it does, then the entire nation can cheer.
If you take away the incentives (free medical, education, housing, food stamps, and jobs), for illegals to come here some will go back voluntarily and many not here yet will decide not to come.
1. No citizenship for anchor babies
2. Fine employers who hire illegals. Second offense mandatory jail time
3. No medical, education, housing, free food, etc. for illegals
4. Deportation for those apprehended.
5. Fine their country of origin $10,000.00 in the form of deducting in aid for each illegal caught. Second offense $20,000.00. Mexico would start patrolling their own borders if this provision was enforced.
I guarantee you that this would go a long way in solving this most pressing issue.

Tancredo is absolutely correct as to the seriousness of what is at stake. We are careening towards ethnic chaos, not only here, but throughout the West, and so many have been misled by an educational establishment brainwashed by those who see the Nation State as a threat to their causes, that it is a terrible uphill fight to wake people up. The issue ultimately is what was won in 1776. We are about to lose it, for no reason other than people's inability to see beyond the nice sounding slogans of political air heads, spouting what fanatical, but patiently boring, Leftists have seeded in their "thinking."

The important thing is that we stop this bill. If we play to their weaknesses, if we help them unwittingly save America, so be it.
Well, that would be soooo sad! Cities like Austin, TX, that forbid their police to notify the INS when illegal aliens are arrested for crimes deserve to have their funds cut off.

Tancredo is not a one trick pony. I heard a speech of his regarding the threat of radical Islam and he didn’t even mention immigration.
If these things were done, we wouldn’t need to build a fence.
