Actually, Hawaii's unemployment rate is very low these days.

But Hilo (near the volcano) is a depressed area because they fight new business coming in.

The island of Hawaii is by far the largest, thus it is called “ the big Island” but, it has always been the least in growth and business. Maui is the fastest growing for residents and business. ( and we have the best beaches)
