Mika twice referred to herself as having grown up among "Polish hillbillies."

Her grandfather was an international diplomat and a university professor and her father is a university professor and former National Security Adviser.

Her entire family consists of academic elitists.

Bob Barker is suffering from Alzheimers if he thinks Rosie could carry the torch for “Price Is Right”. The show would be over in a few weeks. I think Barker wants her for that reason. He doesn’t want the show to succeed without him!

Bob Barker [said] Rosie O'Donnell would be a great replacement for him on "The Price is Right."

Would they change the name to "The Dyke is Left"?

While I cannot comment on Mika because I don’t watch the liberal shows too often, it does not take a snob or elitist to appear condescending to the very basist - Rosie O’Donnell.

If you are offended by her reference because you somehow identify with the “come on down” crowd you have greater peronal issues to address than worrying about her observations.

Rosie probably saw all those women hug bob barker when they won, and wanted some of that action.

I don’t watch the show but from the post, it sounds like Mika and Paris Hilton have commonality—blonde bimbos with money and a desperate need for public attention.

If Rosie took over, there'd suddenly be an opening monologue and a whole lotta snide asides and putdowns in the middle of the games.

However, one thing that Rosie and Bob have in common -- whereas Bob had a sense of style and class that Rosie will never have, I occasionally detected a note of snobbery or elitism out of him, as if he knew that he was better than these folks. Maybe I misread him, I haven't watched in years (and not regularly in even more than that), but then again, maybe not. Rosie would like to portray herself as one of those coming on down, but she'd still "know" that she was better than them.

If Rosie is put on The Price Is Right, I predict the show is off the air in less than 6 months.
The loyal audience Price has built for over 35 years will NOT tolerate Rosie and her past.
She cannot apolopgize enough to Mid-America church ladies who revere Price.
I also have alot of sympathy for the staff of the show if they have to even test Rosie for the job. She is terrible behind the scenes- even more so than in front of the cameras.
Right now, Price has audience members sitting in the Los Angeles sun and smog for HOURS to get in and have a chance to participate. That will also die out, IMO.
Let O channel take Rosie on.
Leave Price is Right alone, please.

I’m, um, actually with Mika on this one. The whole reason that game show worked was that Bob Barker was a calming presence while middle aged women screamed and jumped around like maniacs. They don’t need a screaming maniac as the host.

Why is Joe Scarborough described as eponymous?

Is the show broadcast from Scarborough, N.Y. or am I way behind the curve?
