Romney and the Mormon apologists say different, of course, but Mormonism is very similar to Islam. Both Joseph Smith, the prophet of Mormonism, and Mohammed were false prophets of the first order.
It will be a sad day if the United States of America elects a follower of a Mohammed-like cult of Christianity to the white house.
Problem is nowadays, American Christianity has for the most part left their Biblical moorings and do not know, or care, what Mormonism really is. Romney is banking on it.
Says you. The problem is, religion is a topic that informed people disagree about. The question of whether Joseph Smith was a false prophet depends entirely upon your own presuppositions.
Actually, Mormons would more liken Joseph Smith to the Apostle Peter, as we believe he held the same position in the church in relation to Jesus Christ. Mohammed denied the divinity of Jesus Christ, and his role as our Savior and Redeemer, therefore Mohammed would be considered an anti-Christ. That’s quite different than someone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior and Redeemer and claims to be his spokeman, as was the Apostle Peter.
Dumbest post I have read in months on FR. No way can anyone compare Muslims and Mormons.

And how many Mormons have hijacked airplanes and flown them into buildings? How many Mormons are teaching their children to put explosives around their waists and go into restaurants and buses and blow themselves up? The Islam - Mormonism comparison is disgusting and not right. But go right ahead, it’s your freedom of speech and right to do so. Keep on being extremist and people will start to wonder why you compare the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to Islam. And then they will find out the truth. That we believe in Jesus Christ and abhor murder.
