Days before Republican primaries that will help determine the party's presidential nominee, leading White House hopefuls will debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library at an event co-sponsored by Politico.com, the Los Angeles Times and CNN.

The Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 debate will take place in Simi Valley, Calif., less than a week before the Golden State's primary and similar Feb. 5 contests in many other states, which could select more than half the delegates necessary to claim to GOP presidential nomination.

If a group of liberal, Republican wannabes gets into a televised cat fight on the grounds of the Reagan Library, no good came come of the promotion. The circumstances would be especially embarrassing if conservatives sat in the audience and booed the liberal participants.

What the hell has happened to the Republican Party?

The California primary will be important since the Republican closed primary is winner-take-all by district and state-wide.

173 total delegates - 10 base at-large / 159 re: 53 congressional districts / 3 party / 1 bonus

And NJ, NY have some prorated delegates which so far Rudy seems to have in hand. We shall see. Iowa and NH are perception deals. The media loves them but in fact, Feb. 5 is the day where the nominee will be chosen.

Well, then, so far I’m correct. But isn’t the Florida Primary January 29th?
