Bobby Cutts Jr. Charged with Two Murders - Girlfriend and Unborn Child

By Elizabeth O’Brien CANTON, Ohio, June 25, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Canton policeman, 30-year old Bobby Cutts Jr., was charged today with the murder of his girlfriend, Jessie Davis. He was also separately charged with a second murder—that of Jessie’s unborn child. Davis was nearly nine months pregnant with a baby girl, due on July 3.

Davis’ mother alerted the police after she found her daughter’s 2-year old son alone in a devastated apartment last weekend, the Associated Press (AP) reports. Policemen and thousands of friends participated in a week-long search for the young woman until her remains and those of her unborn child were finally discovered in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park on Saturday afternoon.

Unlike Canada, where an unborn child is not considered to be a person, the United States Unborn Victims of Violence Act (UVVA), also known as “Laci and Conner’s Law” (2004), declares that all children “in utero” are considered a second—and distinct—victim of violence in the case of the mother being injured.

The UVVA declares that any person who causes “the death of, or bodily injury to a child who is in utero at the time the conduct takes place, is guilty of a separate offense,” and will receive the punishment “prescribed by the President for that conduct, had that injury or death occurred to the unborn child’s mother.”

While Cutts has not been charged with a federal crime, he has been charged under a similar Ohiio fetal homicide law. Douglas Johnson, Legislative Director for the National Right to Life Committee informed LifeSiteNews.com that such laws are in effect in 35 of the 50 states. For more information see: http://www.nrlc.org/Unborn_victims/Statehomicidelaws092302.html

In this double murder case, the laws seems to have educated the media, with several major North American news agencies referring to Davis’ unborn child using typically pro-life terminology. Fox news and the New York Times, for example, used the words “unborn child.” CNN also described the baby as an “unborn child, a girl she (Davis) planned to call Chloe.” ABC referred to Cutts as being charged with “murder in the deaths of Davis and her unborn child”.

Near the place where the body was found, the AP reports, someone posted a sign commemorating the mother as well as her unborn child. The sign read, “God bless you Jessie and Chloe, forever in our hearts.”

Cutts had been fired from the police dept once before because one of his guns was used by his cousin in a robbery, I think. He sued and got his job back. Very sad.

He was also separately charged with a second murder—that of Jessie’s unborn child.

If the mother had decided to abort the infant, it would all be legal. It's a woman's right to choose, you know. But, if someone kills the infant, then it's murder. The idiocy of this paradox is mind boggling.

I think this incident is a clear case of discrimination. Since when is a “pro-choice” decision a chargeable offense?

Women, who make about 1.3 million “pro-choice” decisions
every year in the United States, are applauded and supported, but when a man makes such a choice, he is arrested and incarcerated. This is very sexist, and in my humble opinion, a violation of the equal protection clauses of the Constitution.

What was the involvment of the woman arrested? Will she be charged as an accomplice?

No offense here but how many threads are we going to have on this subject? It is a terrible loss, no doubt but, and I hope I won't have self-righteous people offended by this, it's pretty much the result of her making a very poor choice in a man. This is a married man, many girlfriends, other babies with other women, a history of violence, lies, deceit and breaking the law. Thus far none were that violent like killing this poor woman and the unborn child but ultimately it was her choice not once, but twice, in having him as the father of her children which precipitated her unfair demise. I felt the same about Diana, she made a stupid choice in a skirt-chasing idiot, more concerned with his privacy than the safety of the woman he supposedly loved. Every choice in life has consequences, some more tragic than others. I can only hope she found peace now that she is with God.

every MSM report i’ve seen consistently refer to “the fetus, the fetus”
like you killed a plant, not a viable baby human.

Here is another great example of the down the rabbit hole insanity that abortion “law” is. A few years ago in Chicago, a married manager of a fast food resturant was charged with the murder of his girlfriend and her unborn child. It seems that he knocked her up, and she came to extort him for hush money, part of which was to go for an abortion. He killed her because he didn’t want to pay the dough for it.

While the murder charges for the girlfriend are easy to understand, I was struck as to how there was almost no discussion of the fact that he got charged for achieving precisely the same objective for the child that the “mother” was seeking and that she would have been entirely free of legal consequence for by having the deed performed by a medical hitman.

Aside from the grave moral implications, abortion law is also the greatest insult to logic and linear reasoning that was ever perpetrated by man or Supreme Court justice!!!

No offense Taken, however, you are judging this woman.
First of all, how do you know that she even knew he was married? How do you know that she knew about other children he had with other women? WOMEN have always falling victums to violence from men. Men that have no outside children, no other relationships, no criminal background still have beaten and killed women including their wives, girl friends, and heck, some times their own daughters and step daughters. The issue here is not that poor Jessie Davis should choose her men more better, because no one really knows what’s in someone’s heart or what they are truly capable of. The issue here is
Evil against women by the men that is suppose to love and protect them the most. I don’t agree that Jessie Davis has any blame for this, because everyone make bad decisions some times in their life when it comes to dating, that does not mean they should be killed for them.
