You think the Iranians are bluffing?

Here is what they say their goals are.... seems to me like they’re making progress on all fronts:

Commandant of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, said on state television. “God willing, the 21st century will see the defeat of the U.S. and the Zionists, and the victory of freedom-seeking nations of the world. The final goal of the [1979] revolution is to create global Islamic rule and a regime of law to be led by the Imam Mahdi”.

The [Iranians] President’s chief strategist, Hassan Abbassi, has come up with a war plan based on the premise that “Britain is the mother of all evils” – the evils being America, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, the Gulf states and even Canada, all of whom are the malign progeny of the British Empire. “We have a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization,” says Mr Abbassi. “There are 29 sensitive sites in the U.S. and in the West. We have already spied on these sites and we know how we are going to attack them… Once we have defeated the Anglo-Saxons the rest will run for cover.”

The IRGC chief warned that Iran was seeing through “critical days” and “fate-determining years”. He described the purpose of Iran’s 1979 Islamic revolution as the “Salvation of Muslims” from the hands of the “oppressive U.S. and Israel”.

Rev 13:4 they worshiped the dragon because he had given ruling authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast too, saying: “Who is like the beast?” and “Who is able to make war against him?”

The Israeli AF, for all their courage and skill, ain’t the U.S. Air Force or the U.S. Navy. We will soon have three carrier battle groups right off their coast. That’s around 150 F-18 fighters, and around 18 or so guided missile cruisers and destroyers. Additionally, we are loaded up on neat stuff like B-2 stealth bombers (ever seen a MOAB explode?), B-1s, F-16s, F-15s, etc.

We could devastate Iran’s military in a week, if we had a mind to.

All true, but as long as Bush sits with his thumb up his backside and worries more about ramming AMNESTY thru, Iran will continue to kill our troops and laugh as they piss on our legs.

Yes “Bluffing”. They know full well we can kick their butts back into the Dark Ages (if they ever left). I wouldn’t call it anything else.

They welcome it! They think they’re bringing about the Mahdi.

“We do not worship Iran, we worship Allah. For patriotism is another name for paganism. I say let this land [Iran] burn. I say let this land go up in smoke, provided Islam emerges triumphant in the rest of the world. “ - Kohmeni

They love death. You think threatening to kill them is a deterrant? How laughable... for them it’s a catalyst!

It seems to me it would be nice to figure out the best way to fight them. I don’t think you can fight terrorists with armies. They don’t stand there and fight. Why is anyone suprised when they hide among the civilian population? That is classic gueriall warfare. We can’t just bomb the hell out of every country where there are terrorists. There are many in Pakistan, and yet, we call them an ally.

I still don’t understand why we picked a fight with Iraq. It was one of the few secular governments there. Now we’ve strengthened Iran. I know just about everyone here disagrees with me, but the war in Iraq makes no sense to me.

It would also be wonderful if we would stop letting them into our country. Bush is bringing in thousands of Iraqi refugees. We are importing potential terrorists while our soldiers and marines are getting killed in Iraq. I just don’t understand how this helps our country.

I have no doubt they are getting into Texas through our porous border. We’re welcoming them in through legal immigration, too. Does is make sense to fight for Iraq and leave our own country undefended?

“I still don’t understand why we picked a fight with Iraq. It was one of the few secular governments there.”

Yeah.. it was sooooo secular it has “God is great” on its flag.... it was sooooo secular that Al Qaida from Afghanistan was streaming into the place.

It was so secular that Saddam was just waiting for the sanctions to fall apart, then we’d be facing both a nuclear Iran and Iraq.

Secular means squat. Saddam was just as much of a threat as the Mullahs are. That’s what neglicting problems for a decade brings you.

Yes it is laughable to believe Islam can triumph without the warriors.

Where did I use the word “Threaten”? I say get ‘er done.

If America gets involved then Iran will be sorry that it sent troops to Iraq

Bush won't even kill Al Sadr. You think he is going to go after Iran? Guess again. The "Bush Doctrine" lies in ruin.

Bombing the hell out of specific targets makes the target go away.
Making folks happy isn’t the objective.
Please bring gas!
