Giuliani Slams Clinton Over Terrorism

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani on Tuesday accused former President Clinton of not responding forcefully enough to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing or later terrorist attacks.

The former New York mayor criticized Democrats, accusing them of weakness and naivete in dealing with terrorism. Giuliani made the comments to about 650 business, corporate and political leaders at Regent University, the conservative Christian college founded by religious broadcaster Pat Robertson.

"Islamic terrorists killed more than 500 Americans before Sept. 11. Many people think the first attack on America was on Sept. 11, 2001. It was not. It was in 1993," said the former New York mayor.

Giuliani argued that Clinton treated the World Trade Center bombing as a criminal act instead of a terrorist attack, calling it "a big mistake" that emboldened other strikes on the Khobar Towers housing complex in Saudi Arabia, in Kenya and Tanzania and later on the USS Cole while docked in Yemen in 2000.

Yep, he won’t be the Republican candidate in the end, but he can inflict nearly mortal wounds on the Democrats.

This distinction (soft vs. hard0 has to be made by all the Republicans running. It is the only issue which will win the race in 2008 for the GOP.
My conundrum is whether or not I want the Republicans to win. Sigh.

I guess you missed his speech at the Republican convention in 2004.

Unfortunately, our government is turning a blind eye again to Iran’s terrorism in Iraq, Lebanon, and Israel. So the pattern of ignoring bad news is continuing.

One Note Rooty should put a sock in it. He's just as bad as Klintoon, no make that worse. His Sanctuary City Policy aided terrorists of all stripes. He's just lucky they choose planes instead of bombs or gas in the subway.

The mutt should just go away.

A bit of Rudi's legerdemain.

He attempts to distract attention from increasing scrutiny of his own failures as mayor to update communications equipment and, against the advice of all his senior advisors, to place his emergency command center and its huge diesel fuel supply right in the Twin Towers, already a known high-propaganda target of terrorists. And the real objective in this attack is to distract from EPA's Whitman telling Congress and the press that she warned Rudi to get his rescue workers into respirators in the first few days after 9/11. That is what this little Xlinton attack is about.

Xlinton didn't make him put that command center in WTC.

Xlinton didn't stop him from updating the emergency radio system which contributed to inadequate 9/11 response despite the heroism of rescuers.

Xlinton didn't make him turn New York City into a sanctuary city where terrorist elements could live without fear of deportation.

And Xlinton certainly didn't keep him from outfitting his rescue workers with respirators.

"Most of Clinton's policies are very similar to most of mine." - Rudy Giuliani

He will. He’s the only Republican candidate who has enormous credibility on the terrorism issue, and who isn’t afraid to rip the Surrendercrats over it.

Its called Leadership, and Hizzoner has it in spades.

He aided and abetted terrorists by establishing a sanctuary city. He failed to upgrade his city's bad emergency comm gear. He put his command center in WTC against the advice of every senior NYC official and despite it being a known and once-attacked target and its fuel supplies for generators contributed to the final conflagration. He put his rescuers on the pile without respirators despite being warned by EPA. And he spent 9/11 wandering around endangering himself and the pack of reporters he cultivates because he had no command center.

Hizzoner sucks and should be prosecuted for criminal dereliction of duty.

Rudolph Giuliani is unfortunately weak on WOT, has not idea on how to fight his. He supports of illegal aliens and wants no fence. Anyone who thinks he should be in charge of WOT?? His comments on WOT to bolster his image and divert from other issues. He brings it up even while responding to questions unrelated to it. He is getting desperate.

We’re going to sink that little crossdressing self-promoting little fraud and send him back to NYC with his tail between his legs.
