CNN is reporting that the vehicle was discovered by “happenstance”.

Sort of like the Ft. Dix situation being unraveled by a pizza guy.

All the $billions spent by the British and American governments on ‘security’. Yet two potentially major attacks are foiled by vigilant citizens.

I think that’s a definite possibility... or else they simply screwed up getting their (various?) assets in place for an impending attack.

Another thing to consider IMHO, the other proposed attacked on London bars/nightclubs (Ministry of Sound etc) involved people who had infiltrated these establishments, gained employment at the premises, and got to know both staff and patrons.

There’s a definite change of tactics here, but one of the things on my mind is the possibility of an additional target who was at Tiger Tiger last night, IF last night’s attempt was the real deal.

I wonder how long it will be before the citizens of the UK rise up and put a stop to the traitorous muzzies that they have opened their doors and their hearts up to. You only get 1 chance to sh$$ on me before you are on my sh$$ list.

Thank God this guy failed at his attempt.

For sure. A gas explosion can cause a lot of damage.

What the Democrats and RINOS can’t seem to figure out, is that we would have had several 9/11 attacks here in the U.S. if President Bush and our troops had not gone after terrorists worldwide.

They know. It's just that winning elections is more important to them than American lives.

Soon Europeans and Americans will have to think like the people in Israel and Beirut and we will be choosing our places of leisure based on how close they are to the street, that they don’t have a lot of glass, aren’t situated on a corner and we will always avoid crowds and won’t be sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather.

15 gallons- obviously not intended to blow up London- but loaded with nails it would have killed and maimed many people.

Is this 15 gallons of propane gas or gasoline?

.... but loaded with nails it would have killed and maimed many people.

Exactly. The target was people, not property, and at a high profile location.

CNN is reporting that the vehicle was discovered by “happenstance”.

How hard is it to find some gas cans or propane cylinders, load them in a car and set them off?

Where there's a Mohammedan will to massacre, there's a way. Britain, and the US, should deport them, or at the very least, halt Mohammedan immigration.

Thanks for the ping.
Maybe it was targeted this particular night because of "Ladies Night"?

Al Qaeda suspected of massive bomb attack on nightclub (UK)
Evening Standard (UK) ^ | 6/29/07 | Evening Standard (UK)

Posted on 06/29/2007 5:30:51 AM PDT by jimbo123

The threat of terror returned to London today after a car bomb was found outside a West End nightclub.

The apparent target was Tiger Tiger in Haymarket, where up to 1,700 people were inside on ‘ladies night’.

It is feared the attack is the work of Al Qaeda militants, who plotted a similar attack on the capital’s Ministry of Sound nightclub and Bluewater shopping centre. The British-born Al Qaeda gang was jailed last month.

One witness described seeing a green gas cylinder in the boot of the car, believed to be a silver Mercedes, which probably contained explosives. The boot was packed with hundreds of nails. There were also two more cylinders on the back seat.

The size of the bomb could have caused major structural damage to the club which is spread over four floors.

One senior anti-terrorist source said: “This was a viable device which could have caused massive damage and killed hundreds if it had worked.

I hear ya... I have lived overseas for much of my life, and have got used to having scanning my surroundings.

I do it automatically, w/o thinking, and have been right in the aftermath of some attacks before.

You know what I find really crazy? I often feel safer immersed back in islamic nations than doing my mundane daily work next to some of the western worlds top targets.

I hate to admit that tho...

That’s quite a bit, certainly, but more of a big fire than a ‘massive explosion’...

15 gallons ignited inside a car is a big fire

15 gallons blasted over a wide area by a regular explosive, and then ignited by the blast, would be a really big incendiary that would kill lots of people. If they really did it right, it might approach the effects of a fuel-air bomb

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article2003808.ece

Inside officers discovered a “significant quantity” of petrol, nails and gas cylinders. They used a remote-controlled device to check the vehicle before bomb squad officers made it safe.

If the bomb had exploded, police said that the shrapnel would have killed or injured anyone within a wide area. The bomb itself could have caused a fireball as big as a house followed by a large shock wave.

Terror groups like al-Qaeda are believed to have been planning attacks on nightclubs, which are considered by Islamic fundamentalists to be symbols of Western decadence.

Tiger Tiger is a combined bar, restaurant and nightclub, part of a wider national chain, that opens from midday until the early hours of the morning. It has several floors, and is believed to have a capacity of over 1,000 - although staff said that only around 650 were in the club at the time of the incident. Last night was scheduled to be ‘ladies’ night’ at the club, complete with female DJ.
