London faced a fresh terror alert tonight as police hunting the gang behind the nightclub bomb plot evacuated Hyde Park.
Fresh details emerged of how the gang - believed to be linked to al Qaeda - came within moments of causing carnage with a 'massive bomb' attack on a West End club.
Park Lane, on Hyde Park's eastern edge, is closed from Marble Arch to Hyde Park corner, with a 200-metre cordon around a suspicious vehicle in an underground car park. It is not known however if this vehicle also contains a bomb.

The head of the Met's Anti-Terrorist Branch, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Peter Clarke, said the technology used in the Mercedes bomb was the same as that used by insurgents in Iraq.
He said: "The police were called and Metropolitan Police explosives officers went to the scene and examined the car. In the car they found significant quantities of petrol together with a number of gas cylinders.
"It is appropriate for me to pay tribute to the courage and skill of the explosives officers who manually disabled the device."
Scotland Yard said extra police patrols were taking place across London as a result.
A spokesman said: "This is to provide a visible reassurance and is not in response to any specific threat."

Apparently, there is a second incident, but too early to have much info.
While we in this country are arguing about immigration and our Government is doing nothing to secure our border, London is busy defusing terrorist bombs allover the city.
HS could be defusing 50 bombs a day and we would never hear about it because it would affect traffic at the mall.
Makes our Mexican invasion problem look tame by comparison.

Except for the commonly-used "tech" of a cell phone as a remote detonator, I think this is just flat out untrue. IED's in Iraq are ~not~ bottles of gasoline, they're mostly leftover artillery shells and mines. There's just very little in common at all.

Sure. Al Qaeda always goes after what they perceive to be the weak points. No need to take the high risk of a direct attack on the US (especially since the repercussions of the last one were so severe for them) when they can more easily peel away "weak sisters" like Spain and now Britain.
May God be with and protect our brothers and sisters in England from these murderous terrorist scum.
We may not be being invaded as strongly as the Brits,but rest assured there are Muslims in this country capable of carrying out these bombings.
Perhaps even mnore of them in Canada.
