For illegals, false IDs are easy to find, hard to track

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- To his bosses at Pilgrim's Pride, he was Juan Jose Rodriguez -- it said so on the birth certificate and Social Security card he presented when the southwestern Arkansas chicken plant hired him six years ago.

At his De Queen, Ark., home, he was Joel Garibay-Urbina -- with a wife, three kids and a mortgage under his own name.

And to police officers responding to a domestic violence call, he was just the latest illegal immigrant to have two identities after an arrest.

"We've arrested them and they offer an Arkansas identification card, and they give us a ... work badge and it's a different name," said De Queen police investigator Sean Martin. "There's no real way to tell."

It turns out that for $800, Garibay-Urbina had rented the American dream. Though local police, prosecutors and immigration agents say they don't know how widespread the practice is, federal watchdog reports dating back to 1988 have warned of the relative ease of obtaining a fraudulent birth certificate.

Assuming the identity of a U.S. citizen -- keeping the documents just long enough to convince Pilgrim's Pride he was a U.S. citizen -- Garibay-Urbina was able to get a job, buy a gun and live undetected until police arrested him after he fought with his wife in January.

If the federal government wanted to fix these problems, they could. That tells me all I need to know about their complicity with Mexico.

“If the federal government wanted to fix these problems, they could. “

The ease of counterfeiting an identity has a lot to do with the residual liberty residents of the USA have. Coming up with a counterfeit-proof system of identification will threaten that liberty. Be careful what you wish for, you may get it.

A better way, that preserves liberty (or its residual remains at least) is this: eliminate the system of entitlement programs that draw non-productive people and their many relatives here.

Ron Paul on Immigration and Iowa

From time to time, I’m going to send you my thoughts during this campaign. Your support is so important to me, and I want you to know what’s happening.

Today, we had good news from the US Senate—not exactly a normal occurrence—when the president’s immigration bill went down in flames.

Here we had a vastly expensive piece of legislation that would have made the immigration problem worse, and put more controls on the economy. So naturally, the entire establishment was behind it. It was a slam-dunk, or so they thought. Then the American people got riled up, and despite all the special interests, the pressure, the media, and the money, scared the politicians enough to vote the right way.

Jeezy peezy... found out yesterday the the City of Boston is interested in buying a piece of property in Readville and Dedham to put up subsidized housing.

Dedham officials told the City they can't afford any additional students in their schools. The Town is strapped for cash.

What I've noticed in Massachusetts is that the "working class" small cities and towns are the recepticles for the illegal immigrants the City of Boston doesn't want in the City.

Brockton, Stoughton, New Bedford, Fall River, Holyoke, and Springfield have become crime areas because the City is sending the illegal immigrants and poor Blacks to live in these areas.

The richer cities and towns do not seem to be absorbing any of these people.

They come to Maryland....home of the illegals, it seems. Our cities are overrun with them. Our roads are overloaded. The State has a $1.5 billion budget shortfall and still the State government continues to protect the illegals.

Here they can get a drivers license without proof of residency, buy a car, avoid insurance, drive drunk and even kill residents with their vehicles. And there are plenty of illegal yobs here in Maryland....home to millions of governemnt workers and politicians who have failed to fix the False ID problem.

In my opinion this administration supports the illegality. I have left the Republican Party in protest.

just the latest illegal immigrant to have two identities after an arrest

Does that mean possession is 9/10 of the law, or that after a certain amount of time the stolen identity belongs to him?

These stories are all written like the illegal is a puppy who stole mommy's slipper. Aww, how cute. Good thing the media doesn't support pedophilia as much as they do identity theft, or we would be subjected to similar stories on that topic.

Why would you leave the Republican party to protest illegals in Maryland??/

The state is run by Demorats.

Certainly we have a problem but leaving the Republican party doesnt help solve it. We need to dump O’Malley. Mike Miller ,and other Demorats that are ruining our state.
We need more Republicans ,not less.

If this Fed. Government is so incompetent that it gets hoodwinked by 3rd world trespassers we certainly do not want to depend on them to solve any problems. They need to resign and let someone else handle the job!

My son does credit checks at a large auto dealership in NC. He was telling me the other day that he had a Mexican customer, and my son asked him if he had a social security number so he could run the credit check. The guy answered, “the best money can buy”.

Good Morning from Mexico. Today in the downtown Zocalo in Mexico City the fella who lost the election is doing a 1 year anniversary day of mourning. About 2 years ago I visited all of my wet back friends in North Brunswick, N.J. They lived on Village Drive, in a house with aluminum foil on windows. Before they would let me in I had to be identified that I was safe. Getting inside I found 2 from El Salvador, 3 from Guatemala, 3 from Mexico, and others were at work. While some were at work, the others were in their beds. The refrigerator had BORDERS. the bottom shelf on the left was for the young couple of Mexico. Etc. When they came home from the factory, they pulled out of pockets toothpaste, soaps, chewing gum I knew they were taking advantage of their assembly lines and robbing blind the people they were working for. The lady of the house, was gone to collect her unemployement check as ROSA, and in a couple of hours was going to check in at her night job as JOSEFINA. In my opinion, they were doing well, they have learned how to MILK the system, and get around laws, using HUMAN RIGHTS slogans to demand their gravy to be served. The young girl said all of her medical expenses for the birth of their American baby would all be paid!!! Something she thought was much better than she could ever get here in Mexico. You know, we here in Mexico are confused. Which is it? Do you want us to come to America to work, or NOT! Over 10,000 decent Mexicans are turned down for visas, tourist, visiting relatives etc. in 5 Consulates in Mexico DAILY after paying $110 for the interview... Ann Coulter go crunch THESE numbers, IT MAKES US SICK that the law abiding Mexicans are turned away in droves, and the ugly citizens who flaunted LAW and ports of entry, are walking away with the CAKE. Fix something up there in the North...guys.

yet...the jorge bush along with fat ted...all the lib/dems and no cajone republicans know better then the US citizens and thought that shamnesty would be better for the US....

viva the american public...that knows better!!!!!

You might be an illegal if you have a State issued Drivers License, a Social Security Number and have to wait for the “Press 1 for English” to pass so that you can actually speak with someone. This ain’t rocket science we are dealing with here!

Yep. The National ID Card. The politico's have been pushing for it for decades now, but for very different reasons. I heard Senator Hatch -R-UT, say as much on Hannity's show just a couple of days ago.....

Garibay-Urbina was able to get a job, buy a gun

So once they figured out he was a felon who bought a gun, they ignored the fact he was Mexican and threw the book at him, right? Right?
