Just heard! Libby will not be going to prison. He will get commuted and be on probation for 2 years and pay a fine.

Commuted only the sentence not the conviction so he can still pursue his appeal.

Gibson said Libby will still have the conviction on his record. will have two years probation and STILL will have to pay a 250,000 dollar fine.

A good start, I would rather have seen a full pardon.
Any word whether Scooter will continue with the appeal?

I expect Scooter does not yet want the pardon; he has clearly been railroaded by Fitzy and the judge.
This is a good move by President Bush; gives Libby the chance to appeal based on the merits without having to spend time in jail.
Thank you President Bush.

that is better than nothing. IMO, I’m happy with this and I’m sure Libby is as well!
