A good start, I would rather have seen a full pardon.

Any word whether Scooter will continue with the appeal?

Pres Bush just commuted the prison time, I hope Libby continues to appeal, as he should pay no fine, and not have it on his record. Armitage was the leaker and Fitgerald KNEW IT before the trial; Ass@@@@. Fitgerald reminds me of the prosector in the Duke Lacrosse rape trial. He KNEW there was evidence to show innocense and he withheld it!

A full pardon would mean the Libby admits guilt and drops his appeals

This keeps Libby out of jail while still trying to clear his name

Well maybe Bush will full pardon at the end of his term if the appeals court upholds the rest of it, the decent thing to do.

“A good start, I would rather have seen a full pardon.”

Bush could still pardon him before he leaves office.

I do not know if Bush took this into account, but if I were Libby I would want a commutation now and a pardon later. This gives Libby the opportunity to pursue an appeal and perhaps get a reversal as a matter of law. A reversal is vindication. A pardon only removes the legal consequences, but a reversal carries a moral vindication as well.

If things work as they ought to, the conviction will be reversed and Libby will be vindicated. If not, Bush should pardon him as a loyal soldier who went down doing his duty.

If Bush had the proper amount of courage it WOULD HAVE BEEN a FULL PARDON. Once again...a half measure. At least he did something to keep the man out of jail and I am pleased about that.

A full pardon still may happen. Don’t get hung up on how Bush does it.
