One more item being accused of the ‘mark of the beast’.. this has to be thousandth item accused of being the ‘mark’ from a SSN, bar code, rfid, verichip, etc..

The mark won’t be a literal number. The mark on the head represents what you believe, and the mark in your hand represents your actions. In other words if you are not saved, you are already marked. Just as God will seal the names of those saved and place his mark upon them. Remember what the Bible says? All those not saved and found in the book of life will worship the beast and receive his mark. If you ain’t with God you’re with the other guy.

The same creature that possessed Nero Caesar will possess the Antichrist. It’s the same entity. He was the Beast back then, and he’ll be the Beast in the future. Not Satan, but perhaps a henchman.

I think you missed my point. 666 translates in Hebrew reference, where each number represents a letter, into Nero Caesar. There is an almost perfect mirror of what was happening in 68-70 AD to the events in Revelation, making it plausible that this was writing about contemporary events.
