Fantastic news.

My only fear is that Howie’s slowing down a bit. I hope he doesn’t turn soft.

This move is ironic on a number of levels. Two people that Howie Carr seemed to loathe were Tommy Finneran and Don Imus. Now he’ll be competing with one and replacing the other. Good for Howie. RKO has been treating him like dirt lately, especially with the Finneran fiasco. I look forward to having something decent to listen to in the mornings again!

I hope WTKK can syndicate his show because that station drops when you get past Sturbridge - but they are on the Net ;)

Somehow I think that this will be good. WRKO has really fallen apart and Howie’s better off where he’ll be appreciated. He’ll also suck whatever life there is out of Tommy’s show.

I wonder how well Howie and Jay Severin will get along?

If true, I hope his new station allows him to do the show exactly the way he wants, politically incorrect sound effects and all. I’ve gotten used to listening him after work, when I was tired and needed a few laughs to pick me up—it’ll be a little strange listening to him in the morning.

Interesting development. Howie Carr detested Imus because Imus made a filthy, utterly debauched comment on air about Carr’s wife, (something to do with Carr’s wife, anal sex and a black man, if I recall correctly). The Carr family eventually sued and recieved an out of court settlement from Imus. Howie Carr revealed this story on his show shortly after the Imus debacle came out.

Damn, I love him in the Afternoon, I’m not usually listening to the radio in the morning.

I wonder if Howie’s show will also eventually be shown live on MSNBC? Howie would help their ratings as well as be seen by a much wider, national audience. It’s a missed opportunity for MSNBC if they don’t do this, but Howie Carr has never been impressed by the existence of MSNBC to begin with. Howie makes fun of MSNBC a lot, and whenever he discusses the ratings of any of its shows, Howie’s “sound person” cues some chirping crickets. LOL

If this means Howie will be leaving the 3pm timeslot I hope my local station will put on Mark Levin even though it would have to be a delayed show from the day before

Did you know about this? I listen to Howie (frequently, but not every day) in my area on WHYN 560 AM (Springfield, MA). I kind of like him in that 3-7pm time slot... hope they still run his show during that time.

will host WTKK’s morning drive show solo and replaces shamed syndicated talk jock Don Imus

Way cool! I'll be able to listen to him out in Worcester. But I wish he was on in the afternoons. Do they do podcasts? I'm surprised that Finneran's bombing. I like him. It looks like they're grooming Todd Feinberg to take over from him. Howie's morning show will be the last nail in the coffin.
