Fort Lauderdale approves gay library with sexually oriented material on city site

FORT LAUDERDALE -- Mayor Jim Naugle took another swipe at gays Tuesday, attacking a request that the Stonewall gay and lesbian book archive be housed on city property.

The tiff over the adult book collection brought to City Hall a war that started last week between Naugle and gays in the city. Naugle's comments about gays, published last week in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, touched off a fierce controversy. In recent days, e-mails spilled into City Hall demanding that Naugle be rebuked and that he publicly apologize.

Typical liberals...make subjective comments: this is all about the mayor taking a "swipe" and being anti-gay rather than the facts of what is in the collection.

They know people won't go for "100 Percent Beef" or "Lesbian Bedtime Stories" so they make the argument about tolerance: you are intolerant, anti-gay and a hate monger if you don't agree, never mind the facts....don't want to be intolerant do you?
