“Yah know what? Ive got the same gut feeling. I think something is up. And you know what? I find it somewhat comforting to know that this guy who actually ~has~ access to the intel, is getting the same vibe I am.”
Nothing specific. Just a vibe from the rhythm and tempo of things. Its a hunch.”
Here’s my gut feeling, one honed from ...
1) the news that 90% of the terrorists involved in suicide bombings in Iraq were ‘foreigners’.
2) Either we win in Iraq in the next 12 months, or Congress decides to give up in Iraq and pull out. Either way ... SOONER OR LATER THE FOCUS WILL SHIFT FROM IRAQ.
3) AQ has, thanks to the sanctuary they got in Pakistan in the last 18 months, rebounded somewhat there. AQ is stronger in Pakistan, but weaker in Iraq.
4)Last clue/thread ... AQ likes to bomb around elections - in Spain before, in UK after a change in Government. First is to influence people, the second is to guage leaders.
What does it add up to? The reality is that AQ knew it was far better for them to attack in Iraq while that was going on because (a) the conditions were so much more favorable, and (b) it could influence us to give up. ON JANUARY 20, 2009 OR PERHAPS BEFORE, THOSE CONDITIONS CHANGE.
The question is ... WHERE WILL AQ WANT TO ATTACK US NEXT?
HERE ... IN USA? ... OR “THERE”, MEANING AFGHANISTAN AND PAKISTAN AND MIDEAST? ... OR BOTH?
I dont know, but we need to be prepared for the worst.
Maybe we are just paranoid, or maybe ....

Meanwhile, pay no attention to that lack of control at the border ... “U.S. officials have expressed concern about the ease with which people can enter the United States through Europe because of a program that allows most Europeans to enter without visas.”
I’ll let my tagline speak for me.
I'd add that the Canadian perception of and familiarity with the U.S. is qualitatively different from the average American's is in the reverse largely because 90+% of us live within 100 miles of our common border.
Accordingly, the bulk of us have been exposed to U.S. border cities' local media all of our lives & visited the USA on a much more routine basis than the average Yank located further away from the Can-Am fronier has for similary familiarity with Canada.
No disrespect taken or intended.
“Aside from equating ‘apples to tacos’, we find it insulting when the very real familial blood & Military-blood-shed-together ties between our nations are ignored or discounted.”
Please understand that to talk that way in most of the media is to invite charges of racism, irrespective of whether it is true or not. Of course, this is the same press that will give more respect/due to terrorist enemies then to new Iraqi friends fighting and dying with us in Iraq.
