Keith Ellison's "Politics of Generosity" (Lib hypocrite alert)

I attended Keith Ellison's town hall forum today in Robbinsdale, with the topic of credit justice issues (sub-prime lending, pay-day loans, etc). With very late notice in the local paper, it seemed media and Ellison's friends outnumbered any citizens attending. Seems the media got more of a notice than the citizens of Robbinsdale. That was probably on purpose (gee, ya think?). About 50 were in attendance today.

Ellison started off the forum with a catch phrase: "The Politics of Generosity," where we all should share in prosperity. Everybody counts. everybody matters.

With that, he introduced a "highly accomplished, dear friend" of his, Carrie, to share her story of injustice by the big bad banks and health care system. Carrie told of being laid off after working 8 years with a company. She was 6 months pregnant with an eight year old daughter, and had to go on COBRA for insurance, which she couldn't afford. Her 8-year old went to visit her father in Argentina and found out that everyone there (including visitors) gets free health insurance. So she told her to go the dentist while she's there. Unable to pay her insurance and credit card payments, she told of her rating going down and interest rate going up. I kind of felt for her, and anyone who goes through financial hardship through unexpected circumstances. Her husband and baby were in attendance.

Six panelists followed with stories of injustice to those victims of predatory lenders. Ellison stayed on point, realizing his words are being recorded and transcribed. No Reichstag comments today. He then promoted an upcoming August event with guest speaker Barney Frank (?!), a forum on Iraq, and a forum on universal health care. Afterwards, audience members were invited to come up and ask questions or share their stories of injustice. One man, Boyce Jones came up and complained how hard it was to get free eyeglasses at Target. I couldn't help but notice the 2-karat diamond earring Jones sported on his left earlobe.

Then, I walked out to the parking lot, where I noticed Carrie's husband/partner with their baby waiting at their car.

Yep. A BMW. Ellison's "Politics of Generosity" seems to be working well with Carrie. I wonder if her 8-year old got braces in Argentina, too.

Don’t know who Ellison is, but he can be as generous as he wants with his own money.

If he wants to e generous with other people’s money than he is no better than a thief.

Accident? I don't think so.

Sorry, the link to Ellison wasn't included. He's our U.S. Congressional Rep in Minnesota's CD-5, getting attention for comparing the Nazi Reichstag burning to Bush's policies this past week while speaking to an atheist group.

The lack of “free” and “guaranteed” everything is a perceived injustice to all socialists, communists and democrats. Their end-game is rationing, shortages and shared misery for all.

Brilliant! Let's remake America according to the Argentine model. That'll work.

Keith Hakim Ellison is a liar bump! :)

Great on the spot report and photos, Minnesocold.

If only the Red Star and Sickle reporters were so intrepid. Of course they are his shills and protectors.

Your report deserves much, much wider play.

"The Politics of Generosity,"...Right - when people want to keep their own hard-earned money it's greed - when the governent wants to take it from them and spent it on politicians' pet projects, it's "generosity"......

So Dubya is the 'nazi', but Ellison is the one driving around in the 'German' car?

For irony, Press 1.

an upcoming August event with guest speaker Barney Frank

Um, Barney? Ellison may be dreamy and hunky, but his friends want you tied to a stake and stoned to death.

Unless you enjoy that kind of thing, I mean.

First let me repeat my big Thank You! Mr. Ellison for reminding us of our first 30-years war defending against Muslim attacks some 200 years ago! Thank you, sir. You did not intend it, but ya done went and done it. Thanks!

Too bad about Mr. Ellison's OPM addiction. I wonder if that's ok in Islam?

It's not germane but the C-SPAN telecast is tomorrow..

Brigitte Gabriel (www.americancongressfortruth.org) is a Lebanese-born Maronite Christian who survived years of Islamic Terror from childhood and she is the author of "Because They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America."

For info on the original telecast see Brigitte Gabriel on C-SPAN Sunday, June 24th IsraPundit June 23, 2006 Jerry Gordon Posted on 06/23/2007 2:06:15 PM PDT by Bokababe

You can watch a repeat of Brigitte on CSPAN 2, at 11 AM Pacific time, Sunday, July 15, speaking at the Joint Forces Staff College in Virginia. Her two-hour speech is not included but the Q&A session is telecast.

Ms Gabriel was interviewed today 14 July by Barbara Simpson on KSFO (SF, Cailf.) Outstanding interview and from Ms Gabriel's description of her speech at the Joint Forces Staff College she yanked the chains of a few officers from foreign countries attending the school. They were Muslim and "offended." Be aware of this: Ms Gabriel said that the Muslim officers were wearing the uniform of the United States military but were actually officers of foreign countries here on some kind of exchange program.

Joint Forces Staff College http://www.jfsc.ndu.edu/

"The mission of the Joint Forces Staff College, a component of the National Defense University, is to educate national security leaders in joint, multinational, and interagency operational-level planning and warfighting, to instill a primary commitment to joint, multinational, and interagency teamwork, attitudes, and perspectives. Military operations increasingly require the Armed Services to work jointly and JFSC provides students the tools to operate in a joint environment. JFSC is composed of four schools, each with different student populations and purposes."
