“Why is Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim in the U.S. Congress, disgracefully spreading extremist propaganda and aligning himself with controversial Islamist groups?”

Because he is a muslim.

A preview of an Obama presidency.

In private... if not out in the open. Obama will glady put the yoke of Dhimmitude upon the sheeple's necks... and let the jihadists slake their thirst for our blood.

Worse yet, it’s because he’s allowed to.

Has any Republican called for his censure, ouster, or his hanging?

They need a spine or a set of cojones to do that, but what do we have? Weepy Voinovich and a ton more just like him.

As I understand it, he was elected by a hopelessly liberal district that will keep him there as long as he wants the job. In that case, he's good as the face of the enemy among us. San Fran Nan won't be there forever, we need a good punching bag just like Ronald Reagan needed Tip O'Neill.

How much access does he have to intell?

A punching bag is fine, but not if he is dangerous by remaining within feet of our President, and sensitive information.

The FBI should be dogging his every move.

Probably about as much as Cynthia McKinney had. The military and the FBI have always figured out how to keep anything too sensitive from congresscritters that cannot be trusted, there's been at least a forty year history of having some who couldn't get a security clearance at a garbage dump.

Really?

The FBI and CIA moles have been leaking to the enemy since 9/11.

I trust no one at this point, especially bureaucracy.

No doubt, the moles are not disguised as communist congresscritters. They're quite easy for the FBI to keep an eye on, just look at that Jefferson clown in Louisiana.

I trust no one at this point, especially bureaucracy.

I understand your feelings on this. But short of committing an impeachable offense, we're not going to get rid of Ellison. In fact, bugging his phones, etc. might be a jim dandy way of finding out who our domestic enemies are. I wouldn't be surprised if the FBI weren't already doing it.

“Why is Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim in the U.S. Congress, disgracefully spreading extremist propaganda and aligning himself with controversial Islamist groups? “

He’s just emulating Muhammad.

“And, just in the past few weeks he has made himself readily available to political Islam in Washington.”

Islam’s roots were political and militaristic, so this is unsurprising.

“attendee, Mohammed Sabur, who also hails from Minnesota and stated, “I’m trying constantly to figure out: How can I be a civically involved Muslim, interact with other Muslims as well as the government while not seeming like a sellout, like my allegiance is in one camp or another?””

Your allegiance must be to the Constitution. Islam is antithetical to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, so it is easy to see your dilemma.

“Young Muslim Americans have a limited number of role models in top-level politics.”

They have plenty of role models. They are just not Muslim - and that is a good thing.

“what’s to ensure that Congresssman Ellison didn’t spew the same hateful propaganda against the Bush administration to the Muslim youth who emulated him in Washington D.C. on July 13, 2007 just 5 days later?”

Absolutely nothing. Within days of President Bush’s rededication of the Islamic Center (which Ibrahim Hooper attended), CAIR was bad-mouthing the President for being anti-Muslim.

“Muslims like himself who do not shy away from their Muslim identity are being called upon in this time in history to ideologically combat political Islam and relegate the ‘Islamic state’ to the dustbin of history.”

Best way to do this? Stay out of government.

“As an individual who has clearly not shied away from the Islamist collectivization of his politics and the Muslim community (ummah), he thus cannot conveniently separate his stance on Islamism from his politics.”

As I stated above, Islam and government are not separate entities according to the Qur’an and Hadiths.

“His own congressional website has virtually nothing about counterterrorism, anti-Islamism, or the recent plots, let alone his unique opportunity to be a leader in Muslim anti-Islamism.”

He blew it immediately by using Thomas Jefferson’s copy of the Qur’an. I wonder if he knows that the foreword written by the translator of that copy of the Qur’an called Muhammad a monster?

“Your public remarks were irresponsible and deserve the censure of your colleagues in the U.S. Congress. “

Don’t hold your breath, Jasser. The Dhimmi Congress critters want the Muslim vote.

I’m currently taking an intensive course in cyberterrorism. We each have to pick a terrorist group, research it and then discuss how likely the group is to commit an act of cyberterrorism or terrorism in general.

I selected Hezbollah and have spent the last week going to their many web sites. This action by Ellison has been heavily reported on on both the English and Arabic versions of Hezbollah web sites.

How about charging Keith w/ treason?
