How about an undocumented would be-felon?
You might not have read my other post on the matter. What I propose is that we "legalize" the illegal aliens by giving them tourist visas (if they don't already have them), then extending those visas on a regular basis so they continue to be legal, but imposing reporting requirements on them which, if violated, result in felony charges and are grounds for deportation with no return.
All the illegal aliens then become legal/illegal tourists.
They get deported in either case.
I'm in favor of deporting every illegal alien who comes into contact with law enforcement. Those misdemeanors have a way of turning into felonies.
Illegal Immigrants Say Local Law Enforcement Doesn't Care If They're Here Legally Or Not (see Post 4)
... this past February, Newport News police arrested Vincente Santiago Flores, he says, for being drunk in public and he too never heard them [the police] ask about his immigration status. Flores is currently charged with robbery.Alfredo Ramos had been arrested for several misdemeanors but only until police accused him of manslaughter for the drunk driving deaths of these girls in Virginia Beach did local officers notify immigration enforcement about Ramos.
Now isn’t that so special.
I hope they do start the deportations.
What, you don’t like the fact you had to earn your citizenship and these people are making it worth nothing now? Come on, let’s all get liberal and sensitive to murderers, rapists and deadly DUI’s on my dime and yours!
They got to start somewhere and Chicago has a deep vaults of history books in how they dealt with such problems in the roaring twenties.

But never upset at their own country for forcing them to find a better place. Perpetual Victim Syndrome.
No, it is a misdemeanor just like those who sneak across our border illegally. The point is that those who overstay their visas whether they are on a tourist visa, a student visa, or an H1B visa are illegal aliens just like those who come across the border. They must be deported under the law and they won't be allowed to come back.

LOL. That's a new one. For starters, if you give them a tourist visa, they can't work here. And it does take some convoluted reasoning to legalize their status after entering this country illegally. Moreover, you enable them to stay here forever on renewable tourist visas. Would you extend the same privilege to any tourist who enters this country?
What we do is write a law that stipulates that ALL visitors to the United States have a renewable visitors visa even if they hadn't applied for it. We also require that they report their current location to ICE each month via a phone call to an automatic voice recognition computer system.
That's right, just a simple phone call each month, and they get renewed for another month. Having a visitors visa they will be allowed to open bank accounts and hold credit cards. Temporary international driver licenses can be recognized with this deal.
Obviously to get this tourist visa we need to have them come in for a photo, biometric measurement, and voice test ~ but the details on that can be worked out in the future.
Should a person here on a visitor visa miss making the call, that will constitute a Class 1 felony punishible by 16 to 20 years and $10,000 fine ~ roughly the same as misuse of a postage payment permit will get you ~ chumpchange if you know what I mean.
You can leave the country to avoid the penalty provided you stay away.
As far as filling our need for foreign workers, that can be handled the regular way through normal immigration. Tourists should be here to spend money, not earn it!
I grew up on the SW side of Chicago. The area over near 79th and LaGrange or thereabouts is just like Dearbornistan. Rapidly becoming Al Qaeda, Illinois.
btt
Why renewable? Much of our visa policy is based on reciprocity. Other countries don't allow us to have renewable visas and remain in their countries indefinitely. We already have machine readable visa requirements. And if we implement the US Visit Program fully, we can track who comes and goes in this country. FYI: There are 27 countries that don't require visas to come into this country, i.e., the Visa Wavier Program. They can stay 90 days.

We already have that in terms of bank accounts, credit cards, international drivers licenses, etc. We have 50 million international visitors a year to this country. What you are suggesting is an administrative nightmare.
Your suggestion of issuing tourist visas to the 12 to 20 million illegals solves nothing. If they can't work, why would they sign up?
All states should start their own deportations. The federal government is too slow.
Oh no no no ! ‘Undocumented’ sounds so negative, I think ‘Future Neighbour’ sounds more compassionate.
Our local Vicar is starting to campaign for the rights of people who sneak into my country illegally. His argument is that because we are surrounded by such beautiful green countryside, we should share it with people from parts of the world where there are deserts. (Caused by Britain and the US polluting the planet).
Oh I nearly forgot, Islam is the same as Christianity apparently. Just thought you might like to know.
Are you kidding? They expect and demand everything and expect us to pay for it all. I hope the tide has really turned and that we will see more of Americans taking our country back. When that happens - and if we are able to put the kabosh on the NAU, too - I would LOVE to show the crooked politicians how well we can survive without the "vital contributions" these "hardworking" invaders "helping" us - and how schools and hospitals would magically improve simultaneously. Duh!!!
