Dinosaurs, early relatives coexisted

UC Berkeley scientists, digging deep into a remote New Mexico hillside, have discovered a trove of fossil bones that they say is evidence that dinosaurs and their early relatives lived side by side for tens of millions of years before the relatives slowly died off and left the dinosaurs to dominate the ancient world.

Until now many scientists had thought that dinosaur "precursors" -- perhaps their ancestors -- disappeared suddenly long before the dinosaurs themselves rose to prominence, but the bones dug up by Berkeley paleontologists show evidence of a different story.

The discovery of a wide variety of creatures all mingled together in layer upon layer of rocks dating from Earth's late Triassic period between 235 million and 200 million years ago, they say, shows that the strange relatives of the dinosaurs remained on the scene while the dinosaurs evolved into truly dominant creatures during the Jurassic period, between 120 million and 200 million years ago.

I for one will not lock down 6,000 versus 9,000 that number is a matter of conjecture ( I was agreeing in point ), I do believe it is not 4-6 billion as evolutionist think.

One of the reasons the enviros must believe that climate change is man made is that rapid natural cyclical climate change throws off the geological side of the “how old is earth”? debate.

That's a new one to me. Here is a USGS page on the age of the Earth. How would climate change affect their methods?

It’s hard to explain preserved flesh that old however, especially when it has vegetation in it’s stomach.

Being frozen solid for 15,000 years would be a good explanation.

Man is limited in his knowledge of physics as it is applied in the atmosphere of earth and his limited knowledge of that.

The cartoon just goes to show that Evo’s can’t read.

"Evo's" (as you call them) can read just fine.

I wonder what the "Crevo's" think when they read in Genesis chapter 1 that God created all the animals first and then Adam, or read in chapter 2 that God created Adam first and THEN created the animals.

Can "Crevo's" read that?

I was thinking something along the lines of Warren Ellis’s Transmet, but I could live with a big purple robe like that. I’d probably end up bashing that noggin on every door frame in my house, though.

What about light from stars that are tens of thousands of light years away. If the universe is only 6000 years old, how did that light get here?

Man is limited in his knowledge of physics as it is applied in the atmosphere of earth and his limited knowledge of that.

Images from the Hubble don't suffer from any atmospheric interference.

As far as carbon dating or other methods that utilize half-life of isotopes since the method was discovered relatively recent can anyone say without a doubt that carbons half-life is X millions of years and the decay rate does not accelerate, nobody has lived long enough to test that theory.

As far a light, who knows what bending/compressing qualities occur outside our solar system nobody has been there.

I have faith that life did not “just happen” and I did not evolve from KoKo. That IMO is just as ludicrous to me as your opinion of my belief.

Oh no way. Dinosaurs have a ritual honor of heaving their mother-in-laws into the tar pits. Haven’t you all ever heard of Hurling Day?

/Dinosaurs Season 1 Ep 3.

The best explanation I've heard from creationists is that when God created the universe he intentionally aged it to make it look older than it is.

Kind of like if you wanted to build an authentic Italian restaurant you might pull back some of the dry wall to show the red brick behind it. God has a soft spot for that "rustic" look.

I don’t think you have to believe that God made the universe look older to make the Bible true. God could have done that, but it’s not mentioned in the Bible. The 6,000/9,000 year old earth is just taken from guys with calculators making assumptions about the text, imo. It’s not in the Bible itself.

Watch it, hitting these guys with facts is dangerous.

I am a Christian myself, and I get so irritated with these guys running around limiting Gods power. He created the entire universe and gave us minds to explore and understand it. If one believes in an all powerful god, why can’t he have a limitless/timeless universe...

LOL, the cartoon is actually from a creationist's website:
