What about light from stars that are tens of thousands of light years away. If the universe is only 6000 years old, how did that light get here?

With that approach, what evidence makes you think it was 6000 years ago rather than last Thursday?

(This is the reason creationism, ID and the rest are religious beliefs, not science; once you start positing creation you have no rational or scientific means to discern among the various versions of creation. Scientifically, the Flying Spaghetti Monster becomes as likely as any other creator.)
