Prison inmate accused in 2nd jail killing

LOS ANGELES - A former Lancaster state prison inmate awaiting trial on charges he murdered his prison cellmate has been charged with murdering another inmate at a downtown Los Angeles jail.

Kurt Karcher, who already was serving a life sentence for murdering an Orange County lawyer, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to strangling fellow jail inmate Edgar Jimenez at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where Karcher had been sent May 18 to await his trial in the Lancaster prison slaying.

Karcher, 39, is charged separately with murder in the March 2006 strangulation of prison inmate Scott Manning at California State Prison-Los Angeles County in Lancaster, where Karcher was serving time for the Orange County murder.

Each of the criminal complaints in the two new murder cases cites Karcher's Orange County murder conviction, which could now make him eligible for the death penalty.

Karcher was sentenced in an Orange County court in 1993 to life in prison without the possibility of parole for robbing and strangling a lawyer who had paid him for sex.

He’s like the guy from the 3 Stooges (or was it Abbot and Costello) movie: “Niagara Falls?! Slowly I turned, step by step...”

Karcher is lucky his cellmate was not a Muslim. The shiite would really have hit the fan.

There was a guy years ago name of Pritzer, I think.
He was the worst of the worst in and out of prison. He murdered indiscrimately, raped (mostly men) and prison officials would keep him segregated from others.
Perhaps a freeper could check out Pritzer....I can’t remember his first name or the State in which he was imprisoned.

Did the lawyer complain about being overcharged?

Now that’s just plain funny!

He killed a lawyer and two other criminals.

I’m trying to muster up anger for him but ...

2 years for me, but the "magic" was gone long before that point.

All joking about dead lawyers aside, this is what comes of giving murderers LWOP instead of the needle he first time. You have to now kill three people to qualify for the death penalty? WTF?
