Out here on the seas of Kansas, my braciopodia collection and I are calmly awaiting the reuniting of Pangea whilst enjoying a very fine barrel select Kentucky Bourbon. As for the tax collectors, I have good grazing fire all the way down to the county road. That coupled with a good range card and a few aiming stakes and I can ensure that they will not carry their objective despite my reduced reflexes.

“If there are too many mollusks, I volunteer to have a clam bake at my house.”

Do not forget the fried oysters, oyster gumbo, raw oysters with a hint of Tabasco sauce, an oyster poor boy from Viskos in New Orleans, smoked oysters, and the best for last clam chowder or oyster chowder. I love saving the environment!

I’d eat a crow before I’d eat a snail.

Escargot is the best. Put a little congac and butter on the critter and bake him at 450 degrees for about 7 minutes. The French may be strange but they got it right when it comes to snails. Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler (let the good time roll)

Hey, a bird is a bird. Fillet out the breast, wrap it in bacon, and throw it on the grill. Tastes just like chicken.

Yes, Shannon, next to Bunratty Castle. A great watering hole!

I saw a bunch of Rovers on the lake by my house this weekend. Wondered what was going on...

The whole Permian period, stretching from about 300 million to 250 million years ago, saw gradual warming. This would have slowed down circulation in the ocean, eventually leading to very low levels of oxygen in the water. Massive volcanism near the end of the Permian might have wreaked even further havoc on the environment.

Redneck mollusks clung tenaciously to their SUVs rather than embrace hybrid vehicles! A simple government ban on SUVs might've saved ninety-five percent of the Earth's species!

There they go again. They got is wrong big-time. It just so happens that I was there and personally observed he extinction of 95% (it was really only 93.0734%) of all those critters. The real culprits were the Kooky Monster and Boy George. It was horrible to watch the chain saw and tea spoon.

Thanks roaddog727! I concur. Blam, not a GGG, probably, but I think it will be of interest?

Trilobites aren’t mollusks.

The writer of this piece is a complete idiot and would not know caus from effect if collapsed on his head.

Correct. I was reading on that topic today, by chance, and other causes suggested by experts include the drastic retreat of shallow seas, possibly caused by lethal radiation from a nearby supernova. Maybe it was the flood basalts in Siberia that suddenly, for some reason (maybe an asteroid collison) quickly covered a million and a half square klicks with inandescent lava (and accompanying carbon dioxide emissions) which stopped the upwelling of the oceans and the associated growth of nutrients. It sure as hell wasn't the abundance of mollusks!

I cannot believe it. Seventy-nine posts, mass extinctions millions of years ago, and not one single mention of the name 'Cthulhu'.

"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn".

Why settle for a lesser evil?

Plus, remember the connection with Louisiana. Shellfish?

Scientists are Philistines.
