Unreported Poll: Congress Gets 3% Approval Rating For Handling Iraq War
NewsBusters ^ | August 4, 2007 | Noel Sheppard |

If in the run-up to last year's elections a poll identified a three percent approval rating for the way Congress - which was controlled by Republicans at the time in case you forgot - was handling the war in Iraq, do you think you would have heard about it?

Maybe on every morning and evening news program for days, and on the front pages of every newspaper, correct?

Well, on Wednesday, Zogby International released the results of a stunning new poll that got virtually no attention.

Why?

Because it identified that virtually nobody in America thinks Congress - which is now currently controlled by Democrats in case you forgot - is doing a good job concerning Iraq ...:

Just 24% give the president favorable ratings of his performance in handling the war in Iraq, but confidence in Congress is significantly worse - only 3% give Congress positive marks for how it has handled the war.

That's right. Eight times as many people think the president is doing a good job handling the war in Iraq than those who feel Congress is.

Yet, maybe even funnier, James Zogby, the founder and president of the Arab American Institute who also happens to be a senior analyst for Zogby International, wrote another Bush-bashing op-ed for HuffPo Friday:

Apparently, James didn't read his brother's company's poll two days prior, for nowhere in his piece did Zogby refer to Congress and its role in war.

On the other hand, maybe James is part of the three percent of Americans that believe Congress is doing a good job in Iraq.

Or, is he just part of the margin of error?

Funny, Reuters didn't see fit to mention Congress' 3% approval rating in its laudatory coverage of the Democrats' "achievements" to date this year. If it doesn't lead, it doesn't bleed. The MSM is doing a great job of protecting the Democrats from their own unpopularity with the American people.

A 3% approval rating is a wondrous achievement. Just think...when our Republicans retake the Congress, they can boast that they’ve tripled the public approval of Congress when only nine in ten Americans still loathe its corrupt, conniving, pompous Distinguished Members—even if the approval rating somehow doesn’t sink further. Gosh, even gangbangers, street thugs, convicted murderers, journalists, drug dealers, terrorists, and other similarly despised groups can muster higher public approval than the Congress.

The MSM is doing a great job of protecting the Democrats from their own unpopularity with the American people.

I don't think so. Their unpopularity is so stretched that even the Reuters B.S. can't cover their idiocy and their thieving ways of trying to steal votes after a tally.

As far as this 3% is concerned I'm surprised and shocked that's it even being allowed to be reported!

I can’t either. Basically this poll says the Democrats are unfit to be in office - kick them all out - now - before our nation is destroyed.

Is that within the margin of error of zero?

These elite liberal hatriotics had better pray that Iraq doesn't become a rich and free standing nation. A rich and free Iraq might hire a lot of mercs to capture and bring these war criminals to trial in Iraq for War Crimes against innocent Iraqis.

I don’t think it is that high. Based on the margin of error, a 3% approval rating could actually be 0%! Or perhaps lower, if that is even mathematically possible.

These elite liberals are worried that the surge is working and the war on terror is effective.

We see the elite liberal hatriotics as Bush got his wire taping bill passed in spite of the liberal leaders who were against it.

Apparently the behind doors data given by GW and his intel team convinced enough of the rats in congress to vote for GW’s wire monitoring bill.

I bet that some of the weak DUmmies feared that they would be blamed personally if there is another 9-11.

I just wonder if thre 3% for Congress is part of the 24% for the President, or if those are different people.
