Interesting. I’m guessing the removal of these troops from their combat units is a measure designed to embarrass them.

Maybe.
Reminds me of Daniel’s decision to not worship the king -— break the law of the land, and rightfuly get punished (Lions’ den, et al) -— but God nonetheless protects you.
Put differently, they were correct, but now have to take their lumps.

Hmmmm. Forcing Jewish soliders to remove Jewish people from the land of Israel "undermines the basic foundations of the IDF."

I think that the jailing of these troops is designed to show that those in uniform must follow lawful orders.

I am not part of the Israeli government no do I participate in their democratic process. However, I do have great respect for the state of Israel as a democracy and trust that the people of Israel are making the right decisions to preserve their democracy.
To: trumandogz
Yes. I was commenting on their removal from their units.

Just out of curiosity, where would you draw the line? Are you going to mock folks any time they follow lawful orders or just the ones you don’t agree with.
Do you agree, then, that soldiers should be the only arbiters of what orders they will follow, and failing to follow them should not be punished?

EICHMANN would have loved the prospect of Jews evacuating Jews to make a land Judenrein. I am enraged by these aktions conducted by the Israeli government, the moreso as they are at the behest of our own government

Any soldier that obeys an illegal order to toss an innocent person out of their home is a war criminal. We're heard the excuse "we're just following orders" before. That kind of defense should not be acceptable in a Jewish State. There is a difference between a lawful military order and an illegal one. No soldier has a duty to obey the latter if it is issued.

Just out of curiosity, where would you draw the line? Are you going to mock folks any time they follow lawful orders or just the ones you dont agree with. Hmmm. Let's see. Using commandos to evict (and brutalize) Jews from their homes on land that Jews have historically lived on for millenias might be a good place to start.

Hmmm. Let’s see. The “commandos” aren’t evicting anyone, according to the article. They are providing area security while the cops handle the eviction. Being accurate in your response might be a good place to start.
Hmmm. Didn’t answer my questions. Don’t have the courage of your convictions?
Hmmm. Why am I not surprised?

Providing security for people to perform eviction is basically the same thing as doing the eviction. I applaud these soldiers for not following immoral orders.

Hmmm. Lets see. The commandos arent evicting anyone, according to the article. Oh I see, they just there to witness the fun?
They are providing area security while the cops handle the eviction.
Cops? These are specially tained thugs who have beaten up old men, women and children. They are backed up by crack soldiers in Armored carriers and tanks threatening to fire on civilians.
Is that accurate enough for you? Here is a link for you from the last time these "policemen" were "evacuating" some civilians.
