This screed was taken from a post on Southern Heritage News and Views and is a little dated but it shows the extremes some Leftists and some Blacks go when looking at anything Southern. He compares a map of the 2004 Presidential Election and a map of the Pre-WBTS U.S divided up by Slave States, Free States and Teritories and tries to make something out of it.

Back to science.. Correlation is not causation.

Back when the south was really racist it was solidly Democrat.

It was Democrat mayors and governors that were using the fire hoses and locking black kids out of schools.

Jim Crow laws were passed by Democrats to keep blacks from voting...Why did they not want them to vote...

Republicans...party of Lincoln...

Blacks didn’t start voting Democrat until after Johnsons Great Society.

Michael Dawson took me to school with his map that shows the overlap between Republican red states and the old Confederacy and slave-friendly territories.

Did Mr. Dawson bother to point out that those states are only recently 'red states', and that they were 'blue states' before that (in most cases going back to pre-Civil War days)? No, I bet he didn't.

Uh ok . . .so tell us what the correlation is between crime, illegitimacy, drug abuse, the welfare state et al statistics and black residency. After all, if we are going to compare negative things to where people live, then we at least ought to be fair and balanced, shouldn’t we?

The red state-blue state map is not informative unless you look at the red county/blue county map, Then it becomes obvious that it is a cultural gap between the big cities vs the smaller cities and rural areas of the country.

“And in 2000, the final vote to remove a ban on interracial marriage from our state constitution – a ban which had been rendered null and void by the U.S. Supreme Court 33 years before – broke down to a shamefully close 60 percent to 40 percent.”

—If that’s true that IS shameful. The vote should have broken down 100 to 0 in favor of removing the ban.
