Anti-Immigration Homeless Advocate Attacked While Denouncing Violence Against African-Americans
Fox News ^ | August 17, 2007

Posted on 08/17/2007 9:26:00 AM PDT by 3AngelaD

SEAN HANNITY: Homeless advocate Ted Hayes was assaulted Tuesday for spreading his message that illegal immigrants are damaging this country and specifically attacking African-Americans.

An immigration group started false rumors about Hayes being connected to the Ku Klux Klan, which resulted in a black militant assaulting Hayes and spitting at him during a press conference....

Ted, we haven't always agreed. But I want to bring specifically into this you're against illegal immigration and you've taken a stand. Somebody just attacked you for your views.

TED HAYES, IMMIGRATION OPPONENT: Actually, yes sir. Actually, the guy just spit in my face. That's the first time something like that really ever happened.

HANNITY: Is that on tape?...

We were having a news conference about the murders in Newark, New Jersey, and the failure of the elected officials to obey their oath of office to protect us and that we're having the same kinds of problems here in Los Angeles.

And we're calling on Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and particularly L.A. City Council Bernard Parks to help us...

HANNITY: Let's go to the heart of the message that you're bringing here. And that is that illegal immigrants are damaging the country and specifically attacking African-Americans...

HAYES: Yes, sir. It's getting out of hand, and it's getting to the point where they're callous about doing it, to the point where they don't mind threatening us. They threatened my life, you know, and said, “We’re going to cut your throat.” ...

They don't care. And that's a lie, Sean, in America. That because the black leadership, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, these folks are telling them that their illegal immigration movement is an extension of the civil rights movement. There is no comparison between the two whatsoever...

Ted Hayes, of all people, calls out the black leadership on illegal immigration. Then Susan Estrich jumps in... Good luck on calling on Villaraigosa for help. Ted, you better get your people together and defend yourself, because Mayor Atzlan isn't going to defend you. See the interview at the link.

HAYES: No one's questioning that. You know what? We should stop slavery. We should enforce the laws against employers and homeowners like you who hire them.

This is such a truth. As a Los Angeles homeowner, I would say so many contractors and sub contractors of just about any job one would hire a company for, will be unwittingly hiring illegals. Myself included. You absolutely can not avoid it it is so very, very blantant and in every areana and practically every business here.

The only solution for us homeowners (besides dealing with calls etc to congress, local officials, President Bush, and the house) is to create a network of small and large businesses who can prove and do NOT employee illegal labor, sub contractors or employees. PERIOD. The second option would be to demand every single person on the job shows their SSC and it is then verified (which is basically impossible as there are so many fakes etc.). Thus I think a network is a good beginning. Also very, very useful on so many levels, pressuring businesses from the consumer up as the government very slowly deals with it from an enforcement end.

As soon as I saw his picture, I thought, “That guy must be in the KKK.” It’s just so obvious.

Also as I just outlined above, I would think as a small business or mid size business person one would want to gather together and form such a group as business people. I would do this and market myself thus big time.

Would I possibly be paying higher wages? Sure. But think of all the new business. Where does one begin to advertise this new network? Why FR of course :-). Thoughts from small and mid size business folks out there? Or just consumers who would use this service.

This is a great and concise interview. Thank you for posting this. Hayes is a straight talker.

HAYES: I’ll tell you, Ms. Estrich, I agree with you. Ms. Estrich, I’ll tell you what. I have been asking the Latino leadership to meet with me for a year and a half, including Placido Lopez and all of them. They have not done it.

I challenge you. I ask you. Would you please facilitate a meeting between my group and their group so we can dialogue? Every time I try to do it, ma’am, they have refused me.

...
ESTRICH: ... you will see Hispanic babysitters taking care of the kids, housekeepers cleaning the house, Hispanic gardeners tending the lawns, some of them legal, some of them illegal, many of them trying to make a living, sending their kids to college. Why aren’t blacks in those jobs?

HAYES: Because we were forced out of those jobs. As I said to you before, they undercut the wages. They’re working below the labor standards. And for anyone in America to work below the labor standards is considered a slave. Remember? All the union battles we had about labor laws?

ESTRICH: Well, but you can’t still be blaming slavery for the problems of black America. I mean.

Estrich imploded!!!!!!!

Maybe Ted should start attacking the fact that the overwhelming majority of black youths are killed by other black youths. He is basically pulling the old Jesse Jackson (70s model) in stating that the biggest threat underclass and working class blacks face is another race...

She tried to paint this happy narrative of joyful latino illegals, happily caring for white children, doing work that no one would do....then the guy gets right to the point and says becuase they stole our work by breaking labor laws and using thier slave labor ethic.

Brilliant.

I don't know when it happened, but I do know Susan has been on Hannity and Colmes the last few nights with her new face. :-)

They need to soften up the heavy make up around her eyes, it accentuates all the tightness that is the new Susan and it does not fit her. She now has a college girl face with heavy black eye makeup (never good for older women) and that intense old raspy voice that says serious smoker for about seventy years. It is a little uncomfortable to watch at first the (contrasts).

Do they not let these interviewers look in the mirror before going live? I wanted to take cotton ball to her face so I could even look at the T.V. But I digress.

bodycount of black deaths/murders by illegals ?

probably higher than conflict in Iraq.
but the left doesn’t want it considered.

True. However, there is one arena I do not believe they ‘stole’ the labor and that is as nannies. Maybe it is me, but I do not ever remember anyone employing young or even middle aged black women as nannies in large numbers historically. It used to be older white ladies, younger white ladies and German, French etc.

Wasn’t she sitting in for Holmes? I have noticed that the makeup people on the West Coast always make them look like Goths, or worse, so I don’t blame Susan for the raccoon-eyed look. At least we were spared the purple-magenta lipstick. But I think the plastic surgery turned out pretty good. Must have included a peel.

I remember a 20/20 story back in the 80s about this subject. The story was about black women who ran cleaning services for office buildings at night. The recent immigrants, don’t remember if legal or illegal, were undercutting these black women and running them out of the business.

Yeah, I was surprised at how well it turned out. I agree about the peel or maybe it was laser. She used to be a walking advertisement for a deep one either way. Look like she spent the big dollar though. She definitely did surgery around her eyes/brows.

She actually looked much younger and it helped that she was actually smiling alot. That was part of the difference. It was actually kind of a sweet demire smile and I got a sense of her being a refined young miss, and not the sad, angry lib. I was thinking it was NY but you're right it must be west coast. Thank God there was no heavy lippage in Magenta, then I would have had to turned it off altogether. LOL.
