I just read this statement on AlBasrah.net from the Baath party denying talks with the US or the Iraqi government. It is comming from an anonymous source in the Baath party whereas AL Hayat article has a real name of a Baathist official who talked about Al Douri overture ot the Iraqi government. Also the remaining Baath party in Iraq is not one organization and they do not all necessarily follow Izzat Ibrahim AL Douri. AlBAsrah.net is run by the most extreme of the leftover Baathists in Iraq.
