>Yeah, and Reagan was “just an actor”, too.<
No, Reagan was a long time president of the Screen Actor’s Guild, and he was governor of California for several terms before running for the presidency. Also Ronald Reagan was Ronald Reagan, and Fred Thompson is no Ronald Reagan.
Neither is Duncan Hunter, but at least Fred has a shot.
” Fred Thompson is no Ronald Reagan.”
though i agree with this statement (and i dont think there ever will be another Ronald Reagan) i still like Fred - he is not just an actor, he was an accomplished attorney and two term Senator.
That's the whole point. In spite of all his accomplishments, there are still a lot of people who claim that Reagan was just an actor.
Liberals love looking down on Conservatives, and assume that Conservatives must be unsophisticated, unintelligent, and unelectable. Since they are aware how superior they are, it comes as a devastating blow when "just an actor" mops the floor with them. President Bush is certainly not a Reagan, but he also made the left pay dearly for misunderestimating him.
If calling Fred Thompson "just an actor" is the best that they can come up with, I'm fine with that.
BTTT
And that is a good thing. Reagan is deceased and can't run for office.
Welcome to 2007.
He was governor for two terms not several.
