Terror Label 'Paves Way For Air Strikes' (Iran)

Terror label 'paves way for air strikes'

The White House's plans to designate Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist organisation are intended to give the Bush administration cover if it launches military strikes on the Islamic republic, according to a prominent former CIA officer.

Washington accuses Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps of backing attacks on American forces in Iraq

Robert Baer, who was a high-ranking operative in the Middle East, said last week that senior government officials had told him the administration was preparing for air strikes on the guards' bases and probably also on Iran's nuclear facilities within the next six months.

The US is expected to list the guards as a terror group in the coming weeks. Washington accuses them of backing attacks on American and British forces in Iraq, as well as supporting the Hezbollah faction in Lebanon and Hamas in the Palestinian territories.

The designation will make it easier to target international financial transactions by the guards' lucrative business operations, which The Sunday Telegraph disclosed last week had made multi-millionaires of many senior commanders. It will also bolster American calls for tougher sanctions on Iran over its illicit nuclear programme at the United Nations next month.

But among President George W Bush's closest advisers, there is a fierce debate about whether to take unilateral military action independently of any UN security council moves.

While Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is set on diplomacy, Vice-President Dick Cheney is understood to favour air strikes.

The justification for any attack, according to Mr Baer, would be claims - denied by Iran - that the guards are responsible for the sophisticated armour-penetrating improvised explosive devices that are exacting a heavy toll on US forces in Iraq.

Mr Baer said: "The feeling in the administration is that we should have taken care of the guards a long, long time ago. We won't see American troops cross the border. If this is going to happen, it is going to happen very quickly and it is going to surprise a lot of people."

The White House has publicly insisted there are no preparations for military action against Iran.

Bob Baer is an ass and attention whore. When the Iraqi war started he said that Iran was more of a threat and we had to deal with them or we were going to fail.

The fact that the Revolutionary Guard has been found and killed in Iraq is a strong indicator that they are a terrorist organization. They should be dealt with as any other. So far that hasn’t meant much.

It’s only a matter of when we enter Iran.

This is like the Republican Guards in Iraq.

Right — let’s just give away the whole gameplay.
This is why it makes sense to eliminate ex-spooks...

A lot of this “Iranian invasion” talk is meant to innoculate the situation against just that. It is our ever-traitorous media making sure Iran has prior warning (not that it will do them any good) and trying to get our own citizens riled up and turn the political tide against it before it can even start.

Ever watch this army march … goose step. Ever watch the N. Korean army march … goose step. Ever see the Venezuelan army march … goose step. Hitler’s armies … goose step. Am I on to something or what?

How many times have we read this in the last two or three years?

We already have defeated the Iraqi regime. Those who are still killing our troops in Iraq are Iran's Revolutionary Guard. They can only be stopped by cutting them off at the source. That source is Iran.

If that is true then we are already at war with Iran. The only problem is on Iran terms.

Exactly, because Iran has chosen to attack our troops in Iraq. We need to fight the war on our terms by going on the offensive and attacking Iran.

We have loonies here and there is a horrific pictorial going up on AntiMullah soon about how Indonesian Islam has continued to be a horror story.

We talk of terrorism but find it hard to visualize it. The heads cut off are “conceptual” for us but I want to show what they look like. Cannot b e posted on FR, too graphic but the link will be pinged.

Maybe then more of us will focus on what can and more than likely will start to happen to us here in the USA. A brief time span after it hits Europe.

By contrast, the reaction of a leopard to a day year old monkey says God did not make us like this.

The clock is ticketing on Iran. Either Iran will back down or it will be knocked down.

It's true alright, and it is pretty plain that we are at war with Iran.

The problem is that we have a deeply entrenched fifth column in the Untited States that presently controls our Legislative Branch.

These are the traitors that took control of a formerly great political party and turned it into an engine of hedonism, multiculturalism, deconstructionism and defeatism. We are also at war with these internal enemies, and we will never be able to mount a sustained, effective and successful external war until we win the war at home.

Yes but that also means defeating the democratic party, MSM, and the U.N..

That is what drives me crazy. Iran has as good as declared war on our soldiers in Iraq. It is time to send them a message that we are not playing their game any longer. Send them a proportional response. We’ll send them a cruise missile for every IED we find in Iraq that came from Iran.
