Ted Nugent: Opinions? No, just the facts

By Ted Nugent, Texas Wildman

Sunday, August 26, 2007

I admit right up front — I didn't graduate from college.

I was too busy learning stuff, traveling the world, creating a firestorm of rock-'n'-roll R&B and seeing the way things are.

I fancy myself a human sponge for information, facts, data, wisdom and truth.

I am convinced that quality of life comes as a direct result of learning good over bad, smart over stupid, responsible over irresponsible, and the making of pragmatic decisions based on evidence to that effect.

Bottom line is, I am a rather humble guy, not cocky enough to pontificate on my "opinions," but rather examine information, cross-reference all that I can dig up and draw conclusions based on corroborating empirical evidence.

For example, I'm not foolish enough to play with fire, use tobacco, drink and drive, eat garbage like a pig, point guns at anything I'm not willing to destroy, commit crimes or play around with meth or crack.

I not only learn by my mistakes, but from those of others as well. The jury is not still out on the error of these ways. It's over rover.

So, as I kneel and pray each day for a stronger, better America, I find myself conducting more and more media interviews, speaking to a lot of youth groups and various schools across this great land.

I am astounded at the abject denial regarding certain self-evident truths, a denial that is a surefire recipe for serious injury, ruined lives, premature death and a dangerously susceptible America.

Convenient denial on any given subject will create an atmosphere of general denial where you can more easily pretend, for example, that smoking or chewing tobacco isn't really substance abuse and you can go right along killing yourself while charging others for your health care. Unbelievable.

Irrefutable list

So, here's a list of facts that may or may not be argued, but all are irrefutable, and the fact that an argument exists on any of them proves that fantasy is for fools who are more than happy to see America come to her knees.

* Water is wet. Venison is food. Tobacco use kills more Americans than anything. Drinking and driving is self-inflicted terrorism.

* God gave me the right to defend myself.

* Tofu production kills more living things than any other activity on earth.

* Paul McCartney took too much acid.

* Trapping bans don't work. Hunting bans don't work. Gun bans don't work. Gun-free zones are a recipe for innocent slaughter.

* Guns are harmless, inanimate objects.

* Pathetic people not willing to defend themselves cannot dictate such soulless policy upon those of us who know we must.

* American education fails to teach many children to read, write, spell, balance a checkbook or talk.

* The Internal Revenue Service is horrendously wasteful, unaccountable and unconstitutional.

* Dope destroys lives. Meth users are American terrorists.

* The No. 1 threat to a black American's life is a black American.

* Kids that don't do chores are a liability to family and America.

* People who don't care about their health don't deserve health care.

* Good is superior to evil. Smart is better than dumb. Activism is the duty of anyone claiming to be part of an experiment in self-government. A work ethic is far superior to laziness.

* Barbecued dead animals are perfect, natural and delicious.

* Love conquers hate. Patience teaches much more than immediate gratification. Clean is better than dirty.

* War is the answer against terror and evil. In WWII, America was the good guy, the Japanese and Nazis were the bad guys. You cannot negotiate with evil.

* The war on poverty is a joke. Pimps, whores and welfare brats are not legitimate job descriptions.

* Trees produce wood for many quality and proper uses.

* There are more deer, bear, mountain lion, geese, wild hogs and wild turkey in North America than at any time in recorded history.

* Child molesters cannot be fixed.

* The government gets more profit from gasoline taxes than the oil corporations do per gallon.

* Rock-'n'-roll is sexier than C&W. Guitars are cooler than keyboards.

* It's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it.

* People who can't speak clear English or mumble and carry themselves badly will have a hard time achieving the American Dream.

* Hippies stink.

* People who litter are rude pigs.

I think you get the picture. Obviously, this is a grossly incomplete list of some of the more obvious facts of life.

But if we are to honestly examine this sampling, you will see facts that are to this day disputed, all in the name of "feelgood" denial.

Ted Nugent is a Waco-based musician and television show host.

I was OK with Ted Nugent until I saw him on some show on an Outdoor channel repeating the bio-diversity crap the watermelon environmentalists put out. He seemed to believe it, which does not speak well for his doing his own research or forming his own opinions...

Caring about the environment is not the same as being a tree-hugging whacko. The whackos want to ban ALL development, to put us back to pre-historic times.

Responsible people realize that we are biological creatures who need a basic range of conditions to survive. We believe in not wasting resources (isn't efficiency an essential conservative principle?). And we want to go in the woods, back into G-d's creation, and hunt our supper.

Sometimes it seems people here are more interested in being anti-liberal than conservative.

Just like a lot of liberals were more interested in being anti-Bush than pro-Kerry during the 2004 presidential election.

Facts, please.
I’ve seen plenty of ex and current smokers in hospital beds hooked up to equipment. And I know for a fact that my HMO does not A)charge smokers more nor B) refuse to serve them.

If you belief that tobacco taxes pay for smokers healthcare then you have no beef, but you seem to have a big chip on your shoulder for smokers.

BTW Everone I have ever known who has or had cancer didnt smoke.

Hows about we all get the same treatment and tax burden?

I like Ted and his music-just one little petty quibble here, and strictly my opinion-since when did "sexy" become the end-all and be-all qualification for things? I mean, I recognise that it has been so for a long time, but I don't completely get why it's so. I love classic rock (the only kind there is, IMO), and I love classic country and bluegrass, which couldn't be called "sexy" by any stretch of the imagination, but it's still good quality interesting music that requires a lot of talent to make, moreso than a lot "guitar god" music. Why must "sexiness" be the sine qua non of anything desirable or good or interesting? (Please excuse impossibly long run-on sentence)

My personal favorite:

“It’s better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it.”

“But they’re all good.”

Just like a lot of liberals were more interested in being anti-Bush than pro-Kerry during the 2004 presidential election.

This is true, but just because they do stupid things doesn't mean we have to.

What we need to do is focus less on personalities and childish name calling and focus on the message of life, decency, destroying poverty through economic growth (as opposed to continuously redistributing wealth). This is why I am no longer a Rush or Ann fan...they focus on the trivial, not the critical.

Sometimes it seems people here are more interested in being anti-liberal than conservative.

. I believe in private ownership and control of property (the means of production), and the environmentalist movement does not. I own land, on which I practice good forest conservation principles because I too believe in taking care with God's creation. I do not believe that government is better than individuals at taking good care of land and nature - experience shows (through the tragedy of the commons) that government ownership or control is worse for the environment.

I've been deep in the belly of the green beast, and they think private ownership of property is the leading environmental problem. They are well aware that getting control of one aspect or another (saving snail darters; regulating native vs non-native plants; preserving habitat) will help them get control of all property, and that is the ultimate goal.

Do you believe there is one perfect balance of nature for each spot, and that 'environmental scientists' can determine what that balance is and what must be done to restore it? I see nature as far more chaotic with or without us, and that the nature of our natural environment is constantly changing. I would never presume to know what the appropriate number of deer, chipmunks, bear, birds and beetles on my land should be, and I'm not arrogant or godless enough to believe that I can manipulate the numbers of different species and create the 'perfect balance'. The environmentalists advancing the cause of bio-diversity believe they can and should do exactly that.

It's all about control of resources, which is at odds with a belief that capitalism works and that our freedoms come from God not man.

That's why I was disappointed to hear Ted repeating the bio-diversity talking points.

here’s a comment on the site:

“By Red Baiter

I just hope he repeats those comments AFTER Hillary Clinton is elected President. He will be in jail so fast he won’t have time to reload! Terroristic threats are not funny. Hateful, vulgar, crude insults have no place in political discourse....”

*******************

Now that comment shows just how indoctrinated into Socialism these libRats are. He/she is publicly admitting that Clinton will - rightfully in her/his thinking - abolish free speech - if it comes from a conservative.

Rather chilling.

If it was the last one you will ever smoke, then the 10 minutes won't matter. If it's not the last one, then the 10 minutes won't matter.

And I don’t know that there are more bears in the US than anytime in the past. Deer, sure. But bears? Maybe if you add in Alaska after the Seward purchase, but sounds “dewbious”

Funny. Just yesterday, down to my village store, I was reading the headlines for this month's feature articles in The Maine Sportsman telling how the bear population is on the increase here.

I'm an ole granny, but I could take you to where I guarantee you'd see a bear in it's natural habitat on any given day...

And these are the same people who high-five each other after calling for the stoning of Henry Hyde and his family, after calling for the death of President Bush, cheering when President Reagan died, etc. Who also had the nerve to use Paul Wellstone’s memorial for a political rally.
