I’ve heard the expression “fire in the belly” more times in the last eight weeks than in the rest of my life put together.

Same here. I’ve started to associate it with a bad case of indigestion, and, no, I don’t want a President with chronic indigestion! Screw “fire in the belly”. The term also brings to mind “hair on fire” and that’s another condition a President can do without!

Ive heard the expression fire in the belly more times in the last eight weeks than in the rest of my life put together. I don't recall ever hearing the saying until Thompson formed his testing the waters committee.

Man, I hate fire in the belly, usually indicates an ulcer, who wants a short tempered sick person in charge of anything?
