Good points. All he had to do was take off his clothes and whatever he had over his head so it didn’t even get into his hair. just making a point it seems ... and well made it was!
Just hot enough to peel a layer off skin off here and there. This is real life stuff, doncha know.
Hopefully it was a life changing event for the perp. If not, he will probably face much tougher punishments in the future.

Seriously - petroleum based products, such as vaseline, will dissolve it painlessly. Even mayonaise works!
Oh sure. As somebody else posted, WD40 works great. I use it all the time to remove price tags and other glued on stuff.
My mother scrubbed me with an old rag and gasoline for an hour getting all the tar off. Do you know what scrubbing on skin for an hour with an old rag and gasoline feels like?????! Yikes. Learned my lesson.
