How about if he announces he is switching to the DemoncRAT party thereby retaining his seat, being treated as a hero, and getting numerous chairmanships.

Has any adult male ever picked up a piece of toilet paper in a public restroom stall? EVER?

This may sound funny but I’d love a chance to write that speech. I don’t know what demons, indignation, and haughtiness will control his choice of words, but it would be quite the challenge to write an actually decent speech for such a situation.

I’d choose to not mention anything to do with the incident at all. I’d stress my most proud moments as Senator and thank my constituents for all the support over the years. I would leave out the trite “planning to spend more time with my loving family” which will be translated in nearly every American brain into “Planning to spend more time in public men’s rooms” anyway.

He will continue to be the butt of jokes for a good week at least, and any indignant tone on his part will only make the jokes more delicious. Hit the people with some very important work he did as senator and graciously bow out.

I think he will fit in well with the democrats. If he just votes party line, he will be rewarded with unlimited bathroom sex.

Greetings from the Peoples Republic of Bethesda

That’s my understanding too. Butch Otter is expected to appoint LtGov James E. Risch for Senator Pervert’s place.

Never. I wouldn't touch the floor in a public restroom if you paid me. I wouldn't even pick-up a $20 off the floor. Hundie, maybe. But I'd wash it in the sink and dry it on high heat.

Surely he’ll resign. He’s a Republican, and when our guys get caught they usually at least have enough honor to step down. The one exception was Packwood, but he was a liberal pro-abortion, pro-sexual revolution Republican so his thought processes were more like those of the Democrats. Even he finally resigned, though he fought it for a long time and tried to shift the blame for his misconduct to others.

Liberal Democrats, of course, remain in office and grow in stature with the media after being caught in sordid conduct (Teddy Kennedy, Barney Frank, Gerry Studds, etc.).

29 minutes before the conference and Fox says the governor still won’t comment because he has not heard from Craig.

Translation:

Protocol is to let the Senator say his piece. Even if you know what it’s going to be, you don’t step in the way and say that you know he’s going to resign. You let him do it. Then you follow on by making your own statement in response. And he might not have heard from Craig personally, but still hear from other persons in the know that Craig is going to resign.

Damn. Folks, I’m sorry. Idaho is mountain time, not central. I’ll see if I can get a mod to edit the title.

Has ANY ADULT ever picked up a piece of paper or anything else from the floor of a public restroom? Unless they were using gloves at a crime scene? This entire episode has left me wondering why any man in his right mind would ever enter a public restroom except in a dire emergency, the details of which would ensure his safety. It has also left me with WAY too much information about men’s restroom habits. I have had to turn off the radio several times to avoid more of this information.
