The former Iraqi prime minister speaks out on how he hired a well-connected Washington lobbying firm to help pave his attempt to oust the current government. Whos footing the bill?
Aug. 29, 2007 - The powerhouse Washington lobbying firm hired by former Iraqi prime minister Ayad Allawi is talking to the Justice Department about how to amend its foreign-agent filings after department lawyers questioned whether the firm had adequately disclosed who was paying the firms tab.
The talks came as Allawi told NEWSWEEK that two Iraqi supporters of his were footing the $300,000 bill for the contract he recently signed with Barbour Griffith & Rogersa firm with close connections to the Bush administration and the Republican Party.
But Allawiwho in the past was supported by the CIArefused to identify his financial backers, citing security reasons. Asked whether he would name the people who are underwriting his lobbying campaign in Washington, Allawi replied, Of course not. They may be killed by the Iranians, they may be killed by the sectarian people
These are details I am not interested in answering.

“Behind Allawi’s Bid for Power (Barbour Griffith & Rogers)”
And I thought the main story this week was Hillary’s bail jumping fund raiser caught.
Am I the only person who is disturbed by the fact we have firms employing folks such as Executive Director of the 9/11 Commission that happily act as agents of a foreign power for the right price?
Hilary is preparing for Haley’s 2012 run.
The Republican Party would be dead before ‘12! Starting in January ‘09, if the Democrats end up controlling everything important from the Presidency on down, then they would allow amnesty for illegal immigrants to exist long-term and “to the max”, and many of these endless waves of illegal immigrants will also be allowed to register to vote throughout the U.S. Both conservative politicians and the entire Republican Party will not be able to equal such large numbers of new voters on the “leftist” side, and both the Republican Party and conservatism will eventually die.
So, what's worse.
This. Or the Chicoms giving a millions to a an incumbent President's presidential campaign in 1996 ???
Haley done good...dint he.
