Heh. :) Well at any rate take care of yourself. You've got a great attitude and that's half the battle.

Exactly. The Newsweek article hit the nail on the head, describing his early years, putting himself through college, working numerous jobs, young father of two. That Southern charm and laid back manner conceal a dynamo. Great cover, too. Fred, leaning back, arms crossed..., headline: ‘Lazy like a Fox’. If I were Romney or Rudy, I’d start thinking VP.

Three friends of mine have survived cancer, ten years and counting. That’s reality these days...in most cases it’s not the death sentence it once was. Find something else about Fred you don’t like. Policies, the fact that he’s balding...The fact is he can beat Hillary. Unfortunately, Hunter won’t. Turn on the TV and watch Bill Clinton on the stump with Hillary. They’ve been in New Hampshire this weekend, and the sight of that man and that woman is enough to curdle your innards. We simply can’t afford 8 years of Hill and Bill. The country won’t survive. They’re cockroaches, and Fred is the Orkan Man. My God, this isn’t rocket science.

Do you ALWAYS post nonsense? Or is it only in regard to Fred Thompson? [I’ll bet that’s it—Thompson Derangement Syndrome.] In case you haven’t cleaned your glasses yet, no one’s claiming that “working out” is a cure for cancer.

Sarah Baxter is a leftist hack from the Times. She often writes drivel on this level. Lies, actually.

The poster you refer to apparently is quite the one-trick pony. Laughable.

Why don’t you document for us Thompson’s “ongoing treatments”? We’d like to know what you know.

It’s just so great that we FReepers have you around to think deep thoughts for us-—about FRed’s life and his children. The rest of us are so shallow. Sounds like FRed is too—but then, it’s his life to lead, isn’t it? He doesn’t need a nanny like you to take care of his life.
You must be a Romney fan. Take your concern for FRed and put it in your ear.

Fortunately for Mr. Thompson, it is a relatively indolent cancer.

That's pretty wry.

I’ll feel bad for posting this, but FR needs a stupid-post filter.

It’s not about accomplishments, if you didn’t plan on being President, it’s about CAN YOU WIN! Hunter can not win, Fred can, and he has “First Principles” just as Hunter does.

Speculation mounted that Thompson, 65 – who has suffered from lymphoma, a form of cancer, which is in remission – was in poor health. He was losing weight, it was noted. But he was in reality turning into a lean campaigning machine, according to friends.

It's hard to tell if he'll be climbing Mt. Everest or retire to his deathbed next month.

I'd like to see all these candidates in a distance race. Or even a sprint. I think Mitt and Ron Paul would beat the pack.

That would be far more interesting than some of these straw polls.

“...on a golf cart instead of going on a walkabout like every other candidate...”

Another lie brought to you by the leftist media and Fred’s GOP opponents.

The truth is, Mitt Romney also availed himself of golf carts in Iowa:

“Romney chats amiably with the people in line and then leaves in a golf cart to go to his next event.”

Doesn’t matter if Hunter can walk on water. He’s been ruinning forever and can’t generate much voter interest, aside from the Texas Straw Poll, where the first tier didn’t particpate.

What concerns me more than the cancer itself is its and its ongoing treatments' effects on his energy levels.

If Fred becomes our nominee, I pledge to support him 100% with both my time and my money. But what you have said about his cancer treatments scares the crap out of me.

I have an uncle that suffers from the same type of indolent lymphoma that Fred has, and he is also in remission (Thank God), but he has had a relapse in the past, and during his 2nd treatments he was out of work for 6 months! The problem with his treatment is that it basically kills the immune system, making him extremely prone to infections. During that 6 month period, he could not go out in public without wearing a face mask. And he was only allowed out in public when absolutely necessary (doctors appointments, etc).

Treatment may have changed in the past 3 years since his relapse, but can anyone explain how a President and CiC can be out of the public relm for 6 months?

Also doesn't it seem odd to anyone but me that Newsweek, of all sources, seems to be playing down his cancer? Do we honestly believe that they won't change their tune drastically if Fred wins the nomination. I can picture the cover story as"Non curable - Non Hodgins Lymphoma, Would a President Fred Survive?"

When voting in the primaries, and supporting a candidate, please think about all scenarios.
