A leader of the schism that created the conservative Presbyterian Church in America in 1973

I'm not sure that this is correct. His church didn't join the PCA until 1978 or so.

He also served on the national board of the Coalition for Religious Freedom, underwritten by Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Unification Church.

Better to prove your own slander than have others try it for you.

Our sadness is heaven's glory. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones. Welcome Home, Pastor Kennedy.

I don't know where to begin...
..this Miami paper obit is full of misconceptions ...

..Suffice to say a Godly man is with his Heavenly Father ....praising God eternally.

Coral Ridge is a beautiful church but not ostentatious....the steeple is lovely but not as tall as the paper made it seem.

The pipe organ is beautiful.

I thank God for D.James Kennedy....his vision...his love for the unborn.

Bless you, Dr.Kennedy....Rest in peace.

Better still to read the article, rather than make accusations of slander.

I, for one, will miss Dr. Kennedy, but only till I join the Lord and him in paradise.

I don't know enough about Dr. Kennedy to comment about him, so I'll just say rest in peace. However,

grew from 45 in the McNab Elementary School auditorium to an estimated 10,000 at what's now a megachurch at 5555 N. Federal Highway -- the fastest-growing church in America from the late 1960s through much of the 1980s.

How many "fastest-growing churches in American" can there be? And if it was the "fastest-growing" church in America for three decades, why are there only 10,000? Other churches formed during that time have more than 10,000. Where did everyone go?

One of God’s days, those who are now
Faithful to Jesus in life’s constant maze
Soon will see light. Then, will they know
All of life’s meaning, one of God’s days.

One of God’s days, beautiful days,
We shall in glory sing his praise.
Fighting’s all done, victories won.
We shall see Jesus one of God’s days.

It sounds like the author of this article was trying their best to smear Dr Kennedy without being blatant. So, is it true? I couldn't find anything on it but this.

Coalition for Religious Freedom-Wikipedia

A religious right organization founded by Tim LaHaye and Robert Grant to lobby against government regulation of religion. In the 1980s the organization concentrated its efforts on defending the Unification Church.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM COALITION

The Religious Freedom Coalition is run by Murray O'Hares Christian son, William J. Murray. The question is did the reporter even get the right name?

To the unbeliever, anyone labouring for God is controversial. Or a freak.

What a ridiculous obit. On and on about gay trauma. Maybe the author is one. The Rev. Moon reference. You don’t see this when libs die. “Prof. Jackson was a part of the Western Schools Administration, an organization founded by Communist organizers in the 1930s”...

As for the man - he was by far my favorite TV Preacher. I always enjoyed his heartfelt religious sermons, as well as the segments on the culture war.
