I remember looking to the south late in the afternoon (living in central Iowa) and seeing a airplane heading east. It was significant obviously because the skies were shutdown. I knew Bush had landed at Offut earlier in the day and guessed that aircraft was him heading back to DC.
My thought right then was that our President was heading back to get things started, and that there would be hell to pay for our enemies.
And I was very angry at those who did it. And still am.
