“Debates are important, but let’s don’t let the tail wag the dog here. Standing up there 10 in a row, you know, like a bunch of seals waiting for someone to throw you the next fish is not necessarily the best way to impart your information to the American people,” Thompson said. “I’m not above acting like a seal every once in a while and waiting for the next fish. I just don’t want to do it all the time.”

Translation?

The people who were whining that Thompson hadn’t gotten into the debates with the other candidates made me wonder if they’d ever SEEN any debates. We always complain about the format, and say they’re a waste of time. Then, when someone doesn’t participate in these silly TV shows—when someone shows leadership—we bitch about it.

Like Thompson, voters know that there is no such thing as a “pro-war” American. Americans don’t like war, any war, anytime, for any reason. Good men die and not one American likes it.
That's not true. When there is a Che Guevara or Fidel Castro waging the war, American Leftists like it plenty.

Why I’m leaning towards Fred:

One, who chooses a career in government, will not fix government by choice. Only someone who feels it is their duty to serve in government will do their duty and fix government. Thus it is up to the people to elect only those who feel it is their duty to serve the nation. A careerist will only do what is best for their career. And that is what is wrong with both parties; they no longer are there to serve the nation but, to increase the size of their party and thus enhancing their careers.

Like I say I’m leaning towards him but we’ll see. It’s still early.

“He’d rather lose this race for the right reasons than win it for the wrong reasons and America is overdue for just such a leader.”

What? I’m pretty sure this is filler, but it’s a wierd line. Any help with this one?

Voters are starting to figure out that we don’t have liberals anymore... They are figuring out that what we have today is Democratic Socialists, not their grandfathers Democrats. JFK would be kicked out of the DNC today just like Joe Lieberman, if he dared to utter the words “ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country” at a DNC rally.

I've been screaming this from the rooftops for years.

We need to call them who they are: card carrying members of "Democratic Socialists of America" - this is NOT rhetoric.

http://www.dsausa.org/dsa.html

Back in my investigative reporter days, I infiltrated a a strategy meeting of the "Democratic Socialists" in a church, literally in the shadow of our state capitol (This was some 25 years ago.

This was right after Reagan was elected.) Basically, they admitted that they had lost a lot of gains, as it were, as to operating openly as Socialists - and that they would have to continue infiltrating the Democratic Party until they were strong enough to take it over.

They have been successful. It's time to take the gloves off and call them what they actually are - and I doubt they will openly deny it, as they are committed to it -

Democratic SOCIALISTS - repeat and repeat. WE need to use it every time we mention any one of these traitors.

Just maybe some of the sheeple will wake up

I'm glad Fred Thompson is in the race. To be honest, I already donated to him.

Let me put it this way. There are things about Romney and Guiliani that piss me off pretty badly. I liked Fred initially because he's neither of them. Right now he talks like a conservative. As time passes, we'll unravel all the truth about him and find out if there's anything that pisses me off about him as well.

And in the end, I'll select the candidate that pisses me off the least.

At least there's a choice. Unlike the Democrat "coronation" process. Obama is like one of those Aztec human sacrifices. All that yapping and running about until "the queen" decides to cut his heart out? Yikes...

Most people only watch the debates to see who will choke on the fish.

Why Fred Thompson? Uh, he filled a complete and total vacuum of conservative character among the liberals and wackos running for the Republican nomination. There. I said it in one paragraph.

Why Fred Thompson? Because he's not RINORootieMcMitt, the only other candidates who have a chance of being nominated. If you like RINOs or Hillary in the White House vote for RINORootyMcMitt, if not vote for Fred.

A primary vote for any of the good but virtually unknown conservatives such as Hunter or Huckabee who are in the under 5% polling category is tantamount to a vote for either Rootytoot or Mitt. If either of those two are nominated say hello to President Clinton all over again in '09 because a sizable portion of the religious right will not vote for Rootytoot or Mitt in the general election
