O.J's been a long time overdue and I can accept a couple of days giddiness over his arrest, an above average interest in any trial, and irate vitriol if he gets off again.
None of that overshadows events in Iraq but
a. As I said, it's been due for a long, long, time and he's finally let his alligator ego get out in front of his hummingbird brain. Happy, happy, happy...
b. Even in FR I think Americans have to be reminded that Iraq consists of at least three distinct (and conflicting) groups. We've been seeing good news about Iraqi tribes and cities swinging over to our side for several days now and the distinction of Shia versus (previous) Sunni probably isn't picked up as being pivotal.
For my part, I'm still utterly befuddled over which terrorist group is one or the other - and I know it is critical to understanding why they insist on attacking each other in between killing infidels. That's when the old "...let allah sort 'em out" philosophy comes in handy.
