I’ve seen a lot of comments today by people claiming they’re going to move to another country if ol’ Hillsy is elected. I find them reminiscent of comments Alec Baldwin and other Hollywood types made saying they’d move if Bush were elected. It was offensive when they said they’d abandon their country because they didn’t like the results of an election, and it’s just as offensive when FReepers say they’ll abandon our nation if they don’t get their way in an election. Apparently, America doesn’t mean much to you if you’d just leave that easily instead of stay and fight the next election. (Besides, you’re going to look foolish if she wins and you don’t move, which I bet you don’t.)
You’re right. I’m not going to move. I was being sarcastic, hence the reference to Greenland and Vietnam. No I’m not moving to Greenland or Vietnam.
Besides, she’s got my social security benefits. I’ve been working for 33 years to get the benefits I’m entitled to. Of course, if she eliminates them, then all bets are off.
Hillary Clinton is the U.S. equivelent of Caesar Chavez. We’ll see how much of your nation you can recognize after her first term.
I am somewhat sympathetic to your views, but it’s been startling enough to watch Bush’s effect on this nation. Hillary Clinton? Where’s the exit?
I may not leave, but I always like to know where the exit is when I’m in an outhouse. Those of you who feel moved to respond, this is Hillary. This isn’t some bitch hiding behind the scenes. This will be a full-out assault on everything this nation has every stood for.
The question is if America collapses into Socialism, with continued political persecution of the Clintons’ critics (IRS audits, lawsuits against those who report assaults...) where do you run?
The whole world’s going Socialist. And many nations aren’t so quick to let those who want to “immigrate”.
Move to another country? No way! You would be getting your news from CNN International, and they would portray the “New America” as a newly created paradise!
A lot depends on whether or not they’re retired. And if the Clintons get back in-they’re the ones who started the politics of hatred, division, and pure emotion back in the nineties. It has carried on to this day. If they get back in -AGAIN-I fear a civil war of sorts. The country can’t take much more of it.
